Hak-Ju Lee opted our of his Triple-A contract and is now a free agent.
Vin Mazzaro, Ricky Romero, Ryan Lollis and Hak-Ju Lee have been reassigned to minor league camp.
Mazzaro, Romero and Hak-Ju Lee were all once promising fantasy commodities, but that has changed dramatically in recent years. Hak-Ju Lee has struggled for two consecutive seasons in Triple-A, but he would be intriguing if he finally figures it out this season at 25-years-old.
Hak-Ju Lee signed a minor league deal with the Giants.
Lee will simply provide some minor league infield depth for the Giants as the big club is already locked in with Brandon Crawford, Joe Panik and Matt Duffy. There's a chance he could earn a bench spot given his 20-steal potential, but that's probably about it for now.
Hak-Ju Lee was outrighted to Triple-A Durham on Saturday.
Due to a crowded 40 man roster, Hak-Ju Lee was designated for assignment by the Rays and has cleared waivers. Since he was not claimed, he has been assigned to Triple-A Durham.
