Griffin Conine will miss the remainder of the 2025 season following shoulder surgery.
Conine underwent surgery for a dislocated left shoulder on Tuesday, which was when it was discovered that he would not be healed in time to return this season. It’s a brutal blow for the 27-year-old, who was in the midst of a breakout season. He should be healthy for spring training in 2026 and will hope to win a starting spot again.
Griffin Conine will undergo surgery on his disclosed left shoulder.
What kind of surgery is still be determined, but Conine will go under the knife after a consultation with Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Monday. His timeline will obviously be updated after the operation, but there’s a very good chance Conine won’t play again in 2024.
Marlins placed OF Griffin Conine on the 60-day injured list with a left shoulder dislocation.
It’s a significant loss for the Marlins as Conine is facing an extended absence and will be sidelined until at least late June, even in a best-case scenario. He’s slated to undergo a battery of additional tests and imaging to determine the extent of the damage after suffering the injury during Saturday’s contest against the Phillies on a slide into second base.
The Marlins announced Saturday that Griffin Conine has a dislocated left shoulder.
Conine injured the shoulder on a slide into second base, and the 27-year-old was writhing in pain after the injury. He’s currently being evaluated, but it seems almost impossible to imagine Conine won’t have a stay on the injured list; perhaps a lengthy one.
