2025 Player Outlook
While Torres still played a full 154 games in 2024, he ended with only 15 homers, 4 steals, and a .257 average. He still piled up a respectable 80 runs scored getting to lead off in front of Soto and Judge for a decent chunk of the season but overall was a disappointment in fantasy. He is still a strong OBP guy and should slot right into the top third of an improving Detroit lineup. He looked much better in the second half of the season, slashing .292/.361/.419 after the Midsummer Classic. Torres is more of an accumulator when it comes to his statistical output, but given the looks of the Detroit roster, ABs shouldn't be an issue. If things go well in 2025, he could be a member of the 15/10 club, maybe even 20/10 if things go really, really well, with a respectable .255ish average.

Gleyber Torres (hamstring) is hitting third and playing second base against the Angels on Saturday.
Torres missed Friday’s game after being removed Thursday with hamstring tightness, but it appears to have just been precautionary, and he’s ready to roll for the middle game of the three-game set against the Halos.
Gleyber Torres (hamstring) is not in the Tigers’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Angels.
Tigers’ manager A.J. Hinch noted that Torres was removed from Friday’s game due to minor tightness in his hamstring and that the team had already planned to give him the day off on Friday anyways. He’s tentatively expected to return to the Tigers’ lineup on Saturday.
Gleyber Torres went 3-for-3 with a solo homer on Thursday, but was removed from the Tigers’ victory over the Angels due to an apparent injury.
Torres had homered, singled twice and drawn a walk in four plate appearances in the ballgame before exiting. He didn’t look right running to first base on his leadoff single in the eighth inning though, prompting the Tigers to pull him from the game. Torres already missed time earlier in the season due to an oblique strain that he suffered while hitting a home run, so this is certainly something that fantasy managers should pay attention to.
Gleyber Torres went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI on Sunday as the Tigers completed their three-game sweep of the Orioles.
Torres delivered an RBI single off of Dean Kremer in the fifth inning that extended the Tigers’ early advantage to 3-0. He then put the cherry on top of the lopsided victory with a two-run double in the seventh inning that made it 7-0. Torres is off to a strong start at the plate with his new ballclub, slashing a healthy .281/.338/.406 with two homers, 11 RBI and three stolen bases in his first 71 plate appearances.
