Angels signed RHP Evan Marshall to a minor league contract.
Marshall hinted on social media last night that he had reached a deal with the Angels and it turns out that he has. The 32-year-old missed the entire 2022 season after Tommy John surgery, but he was an effective reliever for the White Sox in 2019 and 2020 and makes for a nice gamble for the Angels.
Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Giants have been talking to free agent reliever Evan Marshall.
Marshall missed the entire 2022 season recovering from Tommy John surgery that he underwent back in October, 2021. The 32-year-old righty reliever boasts a serviceable 4.19 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 180/79 K/BB ratio across 193 1/3 career innings (206 appearances) at the major-league level since 2014.
Evan Marshall has elected free agency.
Marshall is expected to undergo Tommy John elbow reconstructive surgery and miss the entire 2022 campaign. The 31-year-old righty has registered a solid 4.19 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 180/79 K/BB ratio across 193 1/3 career innings (206 appearances) at the major-league level since 2014.

Marshall was diagnosed with a pronator strain in his right forearm in late June, which sidelined him for the remainder of the 2021 campaign. He holds a respectable 4.19 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 180/79 K/BB ratio across 193 1/3 career innings (206 appearances) at the major-league level since 2014.
