Mariners recalled INF Eric Campbell from Triple-A Tacoma.
It's the first time back in the big leagues for the 34-year-old since he appeared in 40 games with the Mets during the 2016 season. He was off to a terrific start at Triple-A Tacoma, hitting .353/.389/.412 in his first 19 plate appearances.
Mariners signed INF Eric Campbell to a minor league contract.
Campbell, 34, was part of the Athletics' player pool last season but didn't see any time in the majors. In fact, he hasn't played in the big leagues since 2016.
Athletics added INFs Eric Campbell and Robert Puason, RHPs Wandisson Charles and Miguel Romero and OFs Luis Barrera and Brayan Buelvas to their player pool.
Campbell will report to Oakland, taking the roster spot of Jorge Mateo, who was traded to the Padres. The other five players will report to the A's alternate site. Puason is 17 and has yet to play an inning of pro ball, but he's considered one of the club's top prospects.
