Erasmo Ramirez has been diagnosed with a “significant tear” in his right shoulder.
Ramirez doesn’t have an official return timeline, but he’s going to wind up missing most, if not all, of the upcoming season. The 34-year-old journeyman signed a minor-league pact with the Twins and was attempting to make the season-opening bullpen in a long relief role.

Ramírez is aiming for a 14th season in the major leagues. He had a 4.35 ERA in 20 2/3 innings for the Rays last year, which is nearly identical to his career mark of 4.37 in 96 starts and 231 relief appearances.
