Braves released RHP Edgar Santana.
Santana was placed on the injured list just before the final weekend of the regular season due to a right intercostal strain. Now he's off the Braves' roster completely after the club needed to clear a 40-man roster spot to activate lefty Tucker Davidson from the 60-day injured list. The 30-year-old righty posted a respectable 3.59 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 33/12 K/BB ratio over 42 2/3 innings of relief this season.

The 29-year-old hurler has pitched well out of the Braves bullpen this season, registering a 3.59 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 33/12 K/BB ratio in 42 2/3 innings of work. The Braves purchased the contract of Spencer Strider in a corresponding move.
