The 29-year-old hurler has pitched well out of the Braves bullpen this season, registering a 3.59 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 33/12 K/BB ratio in 42 2/3 innings of work. The Braves purchased the contract of Spencer Strider in a corresponding move.

Santana has been away from the team since Wednesday, but will be active for Sunday's pivotal matchup against the Padres. The 29-year-old righty has allowed just one run over five innings since September 4.
