Rosario went 1-for-4 at the plate in a pair of contests for Los Angeles while superstar Shohei Ohtani was away from the club on paternity leave. Eddie Rosario started his Dodgers’ tenure off with a bang, crushing a two-run homer in his first at-bat during Thursday’s Cactus League loss to the Cubs.

The 33-year-old slugger got the scoring started in the contest with his two-run blast off of Cody Poteet in the second inning. Rosario went down on strikes in his only other at-bat, finishing the afternoon 1-for-2. He’s going to need to tear the cover off the ball in Cactus League action in order to crack a loaded Opening Day roster, so this was at least a nice step in the right direction for Rosario on Thursday.
