The veteran backstop was limited to 10 at-bats for the Detroit Tigers this year. He elected free agency and looks to land with another team as a No.3 catching option.

Garneau was designated for assignment earlier this week as MLB rosters shrunk from 28 to 26, but the veteran catcher passed through waivers unclaimed and will remain in the Tigers organization.
