Rasmussen was excellent on Saturday, blanking the Atlanta lineup over five frames. He scattered four hits and one walk while striking out seven batters. He was saddled with a no-decision after the bullpen failed to hold the lead. The 29-year-old right-hander has allowed just one run through three starts, giving him a 0.60 ERA, 0.73 WHIP, and a 15/2 K/BB ratio across 15 innings. Rasmussen will look to keep it rolling in a tough matchup against the Yankees in Tampa on Thursday.

Rasmussen struck out four. The Rays will go carefully with him following his stint in the pen last year in his return from Tommy John. As a result, he was lifted after 79 pitches today. He’ll take an 0.90 ERA into his next start versus the Braves.

Rasmussen authored a strong performance in his season debut at Steinbrenner Field, limiting Pittsburgh’s offense to just a pair of hits and only three batted ball in excess of 95 mph. He generated only six swinging strikes, but his cutter-sinker combo was extremely effective as he consistently pounded the strike zone, throwing 46 of 70 pitches for strikes. The long-term durability concerns aren’t going away, but Rasmussen has clearly arrived as an impactful fantasy contributor. He’ll square off against the Rangers on Sunday in a challenging road tilt.

Rasmussen allowed two hits, walked one and struck out three. One would think his rotation spot is clinched at this point. He figured to have one anyway, and he finishes the spring here with a 2.53 ERA and a 9/2 K/BB in 10 2/3 innings. Expect him to be a nice mixed-league starter, at least for the first few months. Fatigue might set in afterwards.
