2024 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: DL Hall has primarily worked as a starter, but when Baltimore has used him as a reliever, the returns have been very encouraging. Across 19.1 IP last season, he posted a 3.26 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 28.4 percent strikeout rate. He induced a lot of ground balls, and a strikeout-and-grounder archetype is a preference of mine. He'll need to harness the command to succeed as a starter, and the hope is that some of his success as a reliever can parlay over to a starting role.
2024 Outlook: Milwaukee likely will give him a look as a starter, but at some point, he’ll be moved to the bullpen to manage his workload. At the end of the day, pitchers who had not one, not two, but three pitches with a 30+ percent whiff rate last season don't grow on trees, and if Milwaukee can keep his command in check, he's an intriguing late round selection in drafts. His workload will be managed at some point, but even when he moves to the pen, he's shown he can be an above-average arm on a per inning basis out of the pen.
