Royals sign RHP Dinelson Lamet to minor league contract.
Lamet opted out of his minor league deal with the Dodgers in early June. He allowed one run in 4 1/3 innings with the Dodgers and was designated for assignment in April. Lamet had a 4.82 ERA in 37 1/3 innings with Triple-A. Bullpen depth is still a priority for the Royals even after trading for Hunter Harvey and there’s no risk in stashing Lamet on a minor league deal.
Dodgers sent RHP Dinelson Lamet outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Lamet went unclaimed on waivers after being jettisoned from Los Angeles’ 40-man roster earlier this week. The 31-year-old journeyman righty will presumably stick around as emergency organizational relief depth, but does have the option to elect free agency.
Dodgers designated RHP Dinelson Lamet for assignment.
Lamet pitched well for the Dodgers in a trio of relief appearances since being called up earlier this week, allowing just one run with a 3/2 K/BB ratio across 4 1/3 innings. The 31-year-old righty figures to pass through waivers unclaimed and will likely wind up back at Triple-A Oklahoma City as emergency relief depth.
Dinelson Lamet tossed a clean ninth inning with two strikeouts to record the save against the Giants on Wednesday.
With Evan Phillips getting the day off after recording a save on Tuesday, the Dodgers went to Lamet in the ninth inning with a one-run lead against the Giants. He struck out two in a perfect inning for his first career save.
