Blue Jays released INF Dilson Herrera.
Herrera had been at Triple-A Buffalo, where he was batting .213/.291/.425 with 10 homers. He's now free to latch on with another organization.
Blue Jays signed INF Dilson Herrera to a minor league contract.
The move was actually made late last month, as Herrera has already played three games with the Jays' Triple-A affiliate while going 2-for-12 with a double and a triple. The 27-year-old has never lived up to the hype from his prospect days, but he's useful depth to have around. He last appeared in the majors with the Orioles last year, going 0-for-5 over three games.
Orioles sent INF Dilson Herrera outright to their alternate training site.
Herrera was designated for assignment earlier this week and passed through waivers unclaimed. The 26-year-old utilityman was 0-for-5 with four strikeouts during his time on the Orioles' active MLB roster.
