Deven Marrero has elected free agency.
Marrero was outrighted to Triple-A Syracuse in mid-September after he had been designated /for assignment. The 32-year-old infielder is a career .191/.246/.279 hitter in 373 career plate appearances at the big league level. He'll have to settle for a minor league deal this winter if he plans on continuing his playing career.
