Red Sox activated C Connor Wong off the 10-day injured list.
Wong is back after missing close to a month with a fractured left finger. The 28-year-old should see the bulk of the playing time behind the plate and is worth a look in two-catcher leagues for those who need help at the backstop position.
Connor Wong homered and walked in his rehab game at Triple-A Worcester on Thursday.
Wong has caught three times for Worcester, though he’s yet to do so on consecutive days while still dealing with some soreness related to the fractured finger he suffered a month ago. He’s 4-for-11 so far.
Connor Wong (finger) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Sunday with Triple-A Worcester.
Wong has been out since early April recovering from a fractured left finger. He figures to be ready to return to stabilize Boston’s catching mix at some point next week.
Connor Wong (finger) has resumed catching bullpen sessions.
Wong hit the injured list back on April 8 with a fractured finger and is on track to return to Boston’s catching mix at some point in early May.
