Beck will provide additional relief depth within the Cardinals' organization after appearing in 20 big-league games this past season. Split between the Mets and White Sox, he logged a 4.50 ERA and 1.59 WHIP with a poor 21:20 K:BB across 34 innings.

The recently DFA'd Beck will remain in the Mets' organization, but is no longer on the 40-man roster. He'll add depth to the Mets' Triple-A bullpen and could be an option to return to the big leagues later in the season.

Beck was bumped off the 40-man roster after accruing a 4.50 ERA and 1.59 WHIP with a 21:20 K:BB over 34 innings out of the bullpen. The move was made to accommodate Jerry Blevins' return from the bereavement list.

Beck will fill a low-leverage role in the Mets' bullpen after being designated for assignment by the White Sox on Saturday. The 27-year-old's ERA sits at a respectable 4.18 after falling north of 6.00 in each of his first three big-league seasons, though his 6.02 FIP indicates that he isn't really pitching any better. His 14.7 percent career strikeout rate and 12.0 percent career walk rate don't give much reason for optimism. A corresponding move has not yet been announced.
