Roe made just one relief appearance this year for the Rays, back on April 2, before going on the injured list with a shoulder issue. The 34-year-old right-hander is scheduled to become a free agent this winter.

The right-hander underwent an MRI and received an injection in his right biceps. The Rays hope to have an update on his status in a couple of days depending on the level of improvement that he shows from the injection. This will likely sideline him for the remainder of the first half of the season.

But the Rays are optimistic that Roe will be fine -- and able to begin appearing in minor league games -- after a couple days of rest. He's been sidelined since early April due to a right shoulder strain.

Roe went down in early April with a right shoulder strain, but he's back to full health now and ready to rock for game action. He should be a factor in the Rays' bullpen before too much longer.
