Cardinals released C Chance Sisco.
Sisco went 0-for-9 with six strikeouts in a handful of Grapefruit League contests this spring. The 30-year-old backstop hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since 2021. He was one of the top catching prospects in baseball last decade, but never wound up living up to expectations.
Cardinals re-signed C Chance Siso to a minor league contract.
Sisco returns to the fold with the Cardinals as emergency catching depth after latching on back in late August following a stint with the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League. The 29-year-old backstop was one of the top catching prospects in baseball years ago, but never really was able to carve out a role at the highest level. He hasn’t appeared in the majors since back in 2021.

Twins released C Chance Sisco.
Sisco re-signed with the Twins back in January and will look for a new opportunity elsewhere. It's always possible he winds up back in Minnesota.
