2025 Player Outlook
The Pirates want to get Reynolds some time at first base this season, and the 1B/OF eligibility will be a welcomed addition for fantasy managers. Reynolds has remained very consistent over the years, hitting at least .260 with 24 home runs in each of the last four seasons. His 1B eligibility will be enticing, as first base isn’t exactly the deepest position in fantasy baseball this season. While Reynolds seems like a safe projection for yet another season of hitting .260+ and 25-ish home runs, it is worth noting that his contact rate has dropped each of the last three seasons, with last year’s 72.9% contact rate being the lowest of his career. I like the lineup around him, and the price point in drafts is fair for his consistency and projectability.

Breyan Reynolds hit a two-run homer in Monday’s loss to the Cardinals.
Bryan Reynolds homered and drove in two runs in a loss Wednesday to the cubs.
Bryan Reynolds went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in the loss to the Cubs on Tuesday.
The right shoulder issue that limited Reynolds to DH duties early on isn’t supposed to be a problem any longer, but after a nice little surge last week, he’s back struggling again now. This is a fourth straight hitless game, leaving him at .227/.288/.336 overall, and he’s tied for second in the majors with 40 strikeouts. On the plus side, his exit velocity numbers are a little better than his career averages. He’s just not getting results, even when he makes contact.
Bryan Reynolds went 3-for-5 with two RBI, two runs scored, and a walk against the Angels on Tuesday.
Reynolds is scorching at the dish after a slow start, collecting three more hits on Tuesday against the Angels for his third three-hit game in his last four. After knocking two singles and scoring twice, he delivered his biggest hit in the ninth, driving in two runs to extend the Pirates’ lead. The 30-year-old outfielder is slashing .263/.330/.400 with three homers and 12 RBI across 106 plate appearances.
