Lowe will take a seat with left-hander Yusei Kikuchi on the bump for the Angels. Curtis Mead will get the start at second base and hit third against the Halos.

Lowe took Pirates rookie Thomas Harrington deep in the – for his second round-tripper of the season. He also added a run-scoring single in the eighth inning, just for good measure to cap off a three-hit effort. The 30-year-old slugging second baseman is batting .333 (7-for-21) with two homers and five RBI through five games.

Lowe deposited a first-inning pitch from Ryan Feltner 409 feet at 108 mph off the bat for his first home run of the season. It was his only hit of the game, but Lowe made it count. He’ll continue to hit in the middle of the order against right-handed pitching and has the power to be a useful fantasy asset in most formats.

Lowe has homered in back-to-back games and is up to .318/.385/.591 in 26 plate appearances for the spring. A homer off Sale could be big for him, as he tries to shake his platoon rep. Of Lowe’s 97 starts last season, just 11 came against left-handers.
