Padres signed RHP Brandon Kintzler to a minor league contract.
Kintzler was released by the Phillies last August and hasn't pitched this season. He posted a bloated 6.37 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 22/8 K/BB ratio across 29 2/3 innings (29 appearances) last year for Philadelphia prior to his release. He's merely organizational relief depth at this advanced stage of his career.
