Mariners released RHP Asher Wojciechowski.

Wojciechowski struggled to a calamitous 8.77 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 23/8 K/BB ratio across 25 2/3 innings (nine appearances, five starts) this season at Triple-A Tacoma in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. The 33-year-old righty has made 58 appearances (35 starts) in the majors since 2015.

Mariners re-signed RHP Asher Wojciechowski to a minor league contract.

Wojciechowski joined the Mariners on a minor league deal last July and then rode out the remainder of the 2021 season at Triple-A Tacoma. The 33-year-old right-hander holds a career 5.93 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and 195/72 K/BB ratio in 202 total major league innings.

Wojciechowski was released by the Yankees last week after just one spot start against the Phillies in which he allowed two runs on three hits and three walks over four innings. He'll report to the Mariners' Triple-A affiliate in Tacoma.

Wojciechowski was outrighted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre by the Yankees after being designated for assignment on Wednesday. Instead of reporting back to that club, he's now free to find a new organization.
