Royals sent RHP Arodys Vizcaino outright to Triple-A Omaha.
The 31-year-old hurler registered an uninspiring 6.35 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and 3/7 K/BB ratio over 5 2/3 innings with the big league club. He'll look to sort out his issues at the Triple-A level.
Royals purchased the contract of RHP Arodys Vizcaíno from Triple-A Omaha.
Vizcaíno inked a minor league contract with the Royals back in January and returns to the big leagues for the first time since 2019. The 31-year-old righty has endured persistent injuries throughout his career, but he's been healthy this season, recording a sparkling 1.76 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 19/6 K/BB ratio across 15 1/3 innings (16 appearances) at Triple-A Omaha.
Royals signed RHP Arodys Vizcaino to a minor league contract.
Vizcaino earned 40 saves for the Braves between 2016-2018, but he hasn't pitched in a major league game since 2019 and he was limited to seven appearances at Triple-A last year due to elbow troubles. The 31-year-old right-hander will act as organizational relief depth for Kansas City in 2022.
Jose Miguel Fernandez has agreed to terms on a one-year contract to re-sign with the Doosan Bears of the Korea Baseball Organization.
The deal has yet to be finalized due to administrative issues regarding Fernandez's passport, but the situation is expected to be resolved, paving the way for him to return for a fourth season in Korea after hitting .318/.394/.447 with 15 round-trippers across 612 plate appearances in 140 games last season. The 33-year-old first baseman last appeared in the majors with the Angels back in 2018.
