Marlins sent RHP Archie Bradley outright to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Bradley went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment last weekend and will presumably stick around with the Marlins as extra organizational relief depth.
Marlins designated RHP Archie Bradley for assignment.
Bradley has been cut loose from Miami’s 40-man roster after struggling to a bloated 12.27 ETA, 2.32 WHIP and 7/3 K/BB ratio across 7 1/3 innings (four appearances). The 30-year-old righty reliever figures to go unclaimed on waivers and could wind up sticking around as extra relief depth.
Marlins selected the contract of RHP Archie Bradley from Triple-A Jacksonville.
The 30-year-old hurler returns to the big leagues after registering a stellar 2.95 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and a 16/5 K/BB ratio over 18 1/3 innings in nine appearances at Triple-A Jacksonville. He'll give manager Skip Schumaker another weapon to deploy out of the bullpen.
Marlins signed RHP Archie Bradley to a minor league contract.
Bradley was limited to just 21 relief appearances last year for the Angels after fracturing his right elbow in late June while attempting to jump over the dugout railing to join an on-field brawl against the Mariners. He also suffered a late-September forearm strain, which likely led to him not having much of a market during the offseason. The 30-year-old righty is a worthwhile gamble for the Marlins and gives them some additional organizational relief depth moving forward.
