The right-hander was desingated for assignment on July 17 by the Royals, but no team decided to make a claim on the 35-year-old. Swarzak has allowed right runs over 7 2/3 innings this season.

Swarzak is removed from the roster to make room for Wade Davis. He struggled with the Royals; giving up eight runs on 13 hits over 7 2/3 innings (9.36 ERA). It's hard to imagine there'll be interest in Swarzak right now. 

Swarzak had a rough few weeks with the Diamondbacks earlier this season but rebounded with a nice showing at Omaha. The veteran reliever figures to be used in low-leverage situations.

Swarzak is already on the roster at Triple-A Omaha and could maybe get a look in Kansas City down the line if he pitches well there. The veteran reliever was released by the Diamondbacks last month after allowing five earned runs on seven hits and a walk over 4 2/3 innings this season out of the Arizona bullpen.
