Misiewicz pitched one scoreless inning for the Yankees last season and had a 3.90 ERA with a 69/18 K/BB in 55 1/3 innings for their Triple-A club. The 30-year-old has a lifetime 4.67 ERA in 115 2/3 innings since debuting with the Mariners in 2020.

Misiewicz was designated for assignment on Monday and cleared waivers, so he was outrighted off the Major League roster and sent to Triple-A where he will serve as organizational bullpen depth.

A 40-man spot was needed for Jon Berti, so Misiewicz is getting bumped. He had been pitching in Triple-A since June after throwing a scoreless inning in his lone appearance for the Yankees.

Misiewicz was with the Yankees for a couple days earlier this week as emergency relief depth, but he’ll head back to the minors with veteran southpaw Tim Hill joining New York’s relief mix.
