2024 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: In 112 games for Pittsburgh last season, he hit 12 home runs, stole 11 bases, and his 15.9 percent walk rate pushed his OBP to a healthy .378! His expected statistics were right in line with his actual statistics, and his 21.3 percent O-Swing% was his lowest mark since the 2019 season! He was solid once again against lefties, and when he’s healthy, he’ll hit in the heart of the Pittsburgh order, which should be an interesting unit in 2024, especially with continued development from Ke’Bryan Hayes and Henry Davis, as well as a full season (fingers crossed) from Oneil Cruz.
2024 Recap: Depending on your league settings, he may only have UT eligibility, so take note of that when looking to select McCutchen in your league's draft. There's nothing really about his 2023 season that he couldn't repeat in 2024, though I could see his OBP coming down a bit (.325 from 2020-2022), and him sending a few more over the fence. At the end of the day, he's free in drafts, but the UT-only eligibility likely delegates him to NL-only setups.
