Andrew Heaney allowed four runs on eight hits in 3 2/3 innings in a loss to the Padres on Sunday.
After a hot start to the season, Heaney has now allowed eight runs on 13 hits in his last 8 1/3 innings against the Padres and Cubs. Heaney was likely always just a streamer for fantasy purposes, even with his slight pitch mix changes. Things don’t get any easier next week against the Braves, and he can be dropped in most formats.
Andrew Heaney yielded four runs in 4 2/3 innings Tuesday in a loss to the Pirates.
Heaney, who gave up homers to Carson Kelly and Pete Crow-Armstrong, finished the night with no strikeouts and three walks. He’s been a pretty stunning success thus far in amassing a 2.50 ERA for the Pirates, but with his velocity down significantly, he’s definitely skating on thin ice. Mixed leaguers who grabbed him should move on ahead of his next start versus the Pirates.
Andrew Heaney held the Angels to one hit over six scoreless innings with nine strikeouts in a win Wednesday.
Heaney took a no-no into the sixth, but it was broken up by Travis d’Arnaud with a double. He was able to keep d’Arnaud from going any further in yet another impressive outing for the 33-year-old southpaw. Heaney now has a glistening 1.72 ERA with a 31/6 K/BB, and while it’s not even kind of sustainable, there’s no denying he’s looked the part over the first three-plus weeks. His next outing is schedule for Tuesday against the Cubs.
Andrew Heaney blanked the Nationals over 7 1/3 innings while picking up a win in a 1-0 victory for the Pirates on Thursday.
