Mariners signed RHP Adonis Medina to a minor league contract.
Medina heads to Seattle as extra organizational relief depth after spending last season in the Nationals’ system at Triple-A Rochester, finishing with a solid 3.76 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 60/26 K/BB ratio across 64 2/3 innings (49 appearances).

Medina posted a 5.35 ERA and 1.56 WHIP across 19 appearances in the majors throughout three seasons before spending the 2023 season in Korea. The now 27-year-old will give Washington organizational depth in the high minors of their minor league system.

The right-hander was signed to a minor league contract earlier in the month, but the Brewers will grant him his release as he plans to join the Kia Tigers in the Korea Baseball Organization. Perhaps if the 25-year-old hurler has success there, he'll try his luck stateside again in 2024.

There were reports surfacing recently that Medina was close to signing with the Kia Tigers of the Korea Baseball Organization, but has apparently chosen to take a deal with the Brewers instead. The 25-year-old righty holds a pedestrian 5.35 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 27/13 K/BB ratio across 35 1/3 innings at the big-league level since 2020 between the Mets and Phillies.
