Rays released LHP Adam Conley.
Conley was designated for assignment on Sunday and is now officially a free agent after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 31-year-old left-handed reliever posted strong numbers in limited action this past season with Tampa Bay and should have no trouble getting another shot elsewhere.
Rays designated LHP Adam Conley for assignment.
Tampa Bay made several alterations to their 40-man roster on Sunday that included adding Rene Pinto and activating six players from the 60-day injured list. Conley posted a 2.29 ERA over 19 2/3 innings this season for the Rays with a 1.02 WHIP and it's possible the left-hander is claimed by another team.
Adam Conley has tested positive for COVID-19.
Conley was placed on the COVID-19 IL on Tuesday morning and now there is confirmation from the Rays that he indeed has contracted the virus. He'll be quarantined for the next 10 days and might not be available in the playoffs unless Tampa Bay is able to go on a deep run.
