Aaron Crow threw one inning on Friday in extended spring training as he tries to get back into the big leagues.

Crow is still in the rehab process from Tommy John surgery which he underwent last April. The 29-year-old righty signed a minor-league deal with the Cubs back in February and hopes to work his way up to a role in the bigs over the course of the summer. Crow was an All-Star with the Royals back in 2011 and spent four years as a mainstay in the Kansas City bullpen before being traded to the Marlins following the 2014 season. He holds a 3.43 ERA and 8.0 K/9 cross 233 2/3 MLB innings.

Cubs have signed Aaron Crow to a minor league deal.

Crow missed all of 2015 with Tommy John surgery, but he had a 4.12 ERA in 59 innings in 2014. Crow's not a bad flier for the Cubs, and the 29-year old could see some major league time next season.

RHP Aaron Crow has been non-tendered by the Marlins and is now a free agent.

Once a heralded member of the Royals bullpen, Crow landed in Miami and then had Tommy John surgery. He missed all of 2015, so there's no real frame of reference anymore. Someone is likely to pick him up, but you shouldn't expect much out of him.

Crow has been activated by the Marlins and looks to be ready for the season. The hard thrower could be a nice piece for the Marlins out of the bullpen in 2016.
