Corbin Burnes (shoulder) threw a bullpen session on Wednesday.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo told reporters Burnes made it through Wednesday’s session without any issues related to his right shoulder and remains on track to take the ball on Saturday against the Dodgers. It’s a positive development for fantasy managers, who will be monitoring his performance closely in the wake of a disappointing start to his Arizona debut.

Juan Soto crushed two solo homers on Wednesday, powering the Mets to a 7-1 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Soto’s tie-breaking solo shot against Diamondbacks starter Merrill Kelly was his sixth round-tripper of the season and put New York ahead for good in this one. The gargantuan solo shot traveled 427 feet into the right-center field seats and left his bat with a stratospheric 110.9 mph exit velocity, according to Statcast. The 26-year-old generational talent took lefty reliever Jalen Beeks deep with an opposite-field solo blast in the eighth inning to record his second multi-homer performance in seven games since May 1. He also tacked on a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the ninth inning, just for good measure. Soto got off to a frosty start by his lofty standards to open the year, but he’s been hotter than a firecracker over the past week. Are you not entertained?

Corbin Carroll went 2-for-2 with a solo homer and two walks on Wednesday in a loss to the Mets.

Carroll was one of the few bright spots for the Diamondbacks on Wednesday afternoon as he reached base safely in all four of his plate appearances out of the leadoff spot and slugged his 11th round-tripper of the season in the eighth inning against Mets reliever Max Kranick.

Gabriel Moreno (side) came off the bench as a defensive replacement during Wednesday’s loss to the Mets.

Moreno came off the bench to take over behind the plate after Jose Herrera was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the late stages of the contest. He went hitless in his lone at-bat. The 25-year-old has been held out of the lineup for two straight games due to left side soreness.

Kodai Senga fired six shutout innings on Wednesday in a win over the Diamondbacks.

Senga struggled mightily with his control in this one, matching a career-high with five free passes, but the walks didn’t come back to haunt him, somehow. He finished with four strikeouts and managed to limit Arizona’s high-powered offense to just a pair of hits over six strong frames. The 32-year-old righty has allowed two earned runs or fewer in each of his seven starts to open the season, resulting in a microscopic 1.16 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 35/17 K/BB ratio across 38 2/3 innings of work. He’ll square off against the Pirates at home on Tuesday in his next outing.

Merrill Kelly was charged with three runs over a season-high 6 1/3 innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Mets.

The Diamondbacks have been giving Kelly pickles in an effort to combat the hamstring cramping issues that have plagued him in recent weeks and it seemed to work on Wednesday afternoon as he was able to work into the seventh inning for the first time in eight starts this season. He finished with six strikeouts and didn’t hand out a free pass. He carried a shutout into the sixth inning before serving up a solo shot to Juan Soto and was charged with two additional runs in the ensuing frame before departing. He’ll bring a respectable 4.09 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 33/12 K/BB ratio across 44 innings (eight starts) into a road tilt on Monday against the Giants at Oracle Park.
