Mariners optioned RHP Troy Taylor to Triple-A Tacoma.
Taylor made just one appearance, but he didn’t record an out while giving up three runs against the Reds on Wednesday. The right-hander will likely be an option again for Seattle at some point, but for now, they feel more comfortable with Casey Lawrence as a multi-inning relief option.
Mariners selected the contract of RHP Casey Lawrence.
White Sox sent RHP Mike Clevinger outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
It’s no surprise that a team wasn’t interested in Clevinger after he was designated for assignment. He can either report to Triple-A or elect free agency.
Kevin Love (personal reasons) is out for Friday’s matchup with the Hawks.
Love’s streak of absences will extend to 14 as he misses the Heat’s Play-In matchup with the Hawks. If Miami wins and advances to the playoffs, the team will face Cleveland in the first round, and Love will have a chance to return against his former team.
Blue Jays activated OF Nathan Lukes off the paternity list.
Lukes was away for three days, but he’s back with the club after taking care of far more pressing matters.
Dodgers recalled RHP Noah Davis from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Davis gives the Dodgers a fresh arm in the bullpen. The 27-year-old will have a chance to make his debut for Los Angeles after being acquired just before the start of the season from the Red Sox.
