Procore Championship 2024: Daily Fantasy Golf Picks & Projections

We’re starting things off in the stunning Napa Valley at the Silverado Resort. This week’s tournament marks the debut of Procore as the title sponsor, taking over from Fortinet.

You might remember this event from its previous names—the Safeway Open or Frys.com Open—but the beautiful setting and competitive golf remain the same. The Procore Championship is ready to bring the excitement back to the course as a new season unfolds.

Silverado Resort: Course Breakdown This Week

Silverado Resort’s North Course, originally built in 1955 and revamped by Robert Trent Jones in 1966, has a rich history with the PGA Tour. It’s hosted events like the Kaiser Open and the Anheuser Busch Classic, and more recently, the Fortinet Championship (previously the Safeway Open).

In 2010, golf legend Johnny Miller, motivated by fond memories of winning two tournaments here, led a group of local businessmen to purchase and redesign the course. Miller, ever confident in his knowledge of every inch of the property, made changes like lengthening the course to over 7,200 yards and tweaking bunkers and fairways to encourage aggressive play off the tee.

While the course might not be the most thrilling on tour, the fan experience is top-notch. Nestled in Napa Valley, it’s a paradise for foodies and wine lovers. With wine and liquor tents featuring the best of Napa, plus cooking demos by celebrity chefs like Thomas Keller and Iron Chef Morimoto, it’s an easy sell for a weekend getaway.

In 2023, the course saw a "reimagination"—a fancy way of saying it was rerouted, with hole numbers shuffled around. The layout is mostly unchanged, so this year's Procore Championship will feel familiar, just with a new flow.

2024 Procore Championship Field: Golf DFS

The Procore Championship is shaping up to be a star-studded affair, with several Presidents Cup competitors and captains in the mix. Defending champ Sahith Theegala is back in Napa, fresh off a strong third-place finish at the TOUR Championship. Joining him are fellow U.S. team members Max Homa, who’s looking to regain some form, and Wyndham Clark, the 2023 U.S. Open champ. On the International side, Captain Mike Weir, competing on a sponsor exemption, and assistants Kevin Kisner and Stewart Cink are in the field as well.

Alongside the seasoned pros, rising stars like Luke Clanton and Neal Shipley are also in the spotlight. Clanton has been impressive this summer, notching three top-10 finishes in six PGA TOUR starts, while Shipley is riding high after earning low amateur honors at the U.S. Open. Other young talents like Wenyi Ding and Ben James are looking to make their mark, with Ding making his non-major PGA TOUR debut. Keep an eye on these players as the action unfolds at Silverado!

PGA DFS Picks: Procore Championship

Golf DFS Picks - Top-Priced Golfers: BMW Championship

SAHITH THEEGALA ($10,600)

If you’re setting up your DFS lineup for the Procore Championship, definitely consider Theegala. He’s a solid pick, especially with this field’s weakness. As the defending champ, he's finished in the top 15 in three of his four starts at Silverado CC.

He’s fresh off a great showing at the TOUR Championship, where he finished third despite starting well behind the leaders. With three top-six finishes in his last six starts, Theegala is in prime form and ready for another strong performance. Don’t miss out on him this week!

COREY CONNERS ($9,800)

If you’re putting together a DFS lineup for the Procore Championship, definitely consider Corey Conners. His accuracy off the tee and solid approach game make him a perfect fit for Silverado. Although he didn’t make the TOUR Championship, he finished the season strong with top-10s at the Scottish Open and the Olympics, plus top-25s at the Open Championship and BMW Championship. He’s been playing well lately, so he’s a great pick for your team.

Golf DFS Picks - Mid-Priced Golfers: BMW Championship

JJ SPAUN ($9,000)

For DFS at the Procore Championship, JJ Spaun is a solid pick. He’s been on a roll, making six straight cuts and scoring three top-10 finishes in that stretch. He’s also done well at Silverado CC, with two top-12 finishes in his last four visits. Recently, Spaun finished T3 at the Wyndham Championship, gaining strokes in every major category. With 22 of his last 24 rounds under par and leading the field in SG: Approach, Spaun is in great form and has a strong chance to perform well this week.

MAC MEISSNER ($8,000)

Meissner might be a surprising pick for DFS given his high price and the fact he didn’t make the playoffs, finishing 89th in points. But don’t overlook him! He had a stellar finish to the regular season with four top-20s, including a top-5, in his last five starts. That recent form is why he’s a top contender in our model. Plus, he’s one of the most accurate drivers and solid tee-to-green players out there. If you’re looking for a potential sleeper, Meissner could be a smart choice.

NATE LASHLEY ($7,000)

Nate Lashley is a great pick for DFS at the Procore Championship. He excels on easier West Coast courses that favor wedge play, and Silverado is right up his alley. With two top-20 finishes here and strong showings at similar courses like Pebble Beach and Detroit Golf Club, he’s a solid value at $7,000. Lashley’s track record makes him a smart choice for your lineup.

Golf DFS Picks - Best Values: BMW Championship

JOEL DAHMEN ($6,900)

Joel Dahmen might seem like a risky pick for your DFS lineup, but he’s worth considering. Although he's 118th in points, he excels with his driver and long irons, ranking in the top-25 for Strokes Gained: Approach. The catch? His putting isn't great, sitting outside the top-150 in Strokes Gained: Putting. Despite this, his strong tee-to-green game could help him perform well in this field. For his price, he’s a solid gamble and could end up making the cut with ease.

RYAN MOORE ($6,800)

Ryan Moore is a solid DFS option this week if you’re hunting for value in the $6K range. He’s known for his accurate driving and strong wedge play, which should work well at Silverado. Don’t forget he finished runner-up here in 2019, so he knows how to handle this course. Given his past performance and current form, Moore could be a great sleeper pick to watch for a strong showing in Napa.

KEVIN STREELMAN ($6,600)

Kevin Streelman is a great value pick this week at his low salary. He was priced at $8K for last year's Fortinet Championship but is now a steal for less. Despite a T56 last year, he's got a solid track record at Silverado, with a T3 finish in 2021 and six cuts made in nine tries. He’s been in good form recently, making six of his last eight cuts. For under $7,000, Streelman is definitely worth considering for your DFS lineup.
