Nashville Predators vs. San Jose Sharks

The Captain

We have some options on both teams for the captain spot.

Juuse Saros

Saros was among the best goalies in the league last season, and really over the last few seasons. We shouldn’t expect San Jose to be an incredibly imposing team so we should expect Saros to get the win while making 25-plus saves.

Roman Josi

If you’re going to use Josi in this matchup we will need to find a few good values, but there is an argument to be made that Josi was the most valuable DFS play last season as no other player was able to provide you with the combination of points, shots and blocked shots that Josi does.

Timo Meier

You have to play one player from San Jose tomorrow and Meier is the easy pick. Meier broke out last season with 35 goals and 326 shots. His floor is high and if the Sharks win this game you should expect Meier to of had a big impact.

Filip Forsberg

Forsberg was among the top goal-scorers last season even while missing 13 games. It is remarkable that he was able to score 42 goals in that period of time, and also while shooting just 226 shots, 100 less than the previously mentioned Meier.

The Rest

Erik Karlsson

Erik Karlsson isn’t the player he once was, but he proved last season that he can still be productive. He had 35 points in 50 games and he puts more than two shots on goal per game.

Tomas Hertl

Hertl is well-situated to be a productive player for the Sharks. He scored 30 goals last year, and while you would like him to shoot more he gets all of the best minutes for the Sharks offensively which makes him a solid DFS play.

Mario Ferraro

Before his injury, last season Ferraro lead the league in blocked shots last season. If you’re playing on DK where those blocked shots are valuable Ferraro is a very good value play.

Philip Tomasino

Tomasino had games where he was quite productive last season, and he stands to see a big bump in his minutes this season, possibly as much as five more minutes per game. He was a top prospect for the Preds, and this could be his breakout season.

Mikael Granlund

Be careful with playing Granlund, he makes sense as part of a stack, but Granlund needs to score a goal or get multiple assists to hit value, but he doesn’t shoot the puck enough for him to hold any value consistently on his own.

Ryan McDonagh

McDonough isn’t the type of player who is likely to produce a lot of points, but he is someone who will block shots, and he is known to get you some points and shots as well, so he is a value play who can get to their floor without too much trouble which is always helpful in the showdown format where you are trying to squeeze as many top plays in as possible.
