We had a solid day with yesterday's NHL predictions. 

With the trade deadline tomorrow, we'll be on the hunt for the best props we can find for NHL best bets today. 

 

 

 

Utah Hockey Club vs. Red Wings Prediction: Thursday, March 6th

The Detroit Red Wings have struggled on this side of the 4 Nations break but if we dig into some of their stats, they have some encouraging things going on. 

Since the break, the Red Wings have scored 1.77 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the seventh-lowest in the league. That's not great! However, if we look at their Expected Goals Scored in the same situations since the break, they are up at 2.93 Goals, which would be the eighth-highest in the league. 

So, they're generating solid scoring chances but they're just not able to convert them. That happens, it's a long season and teams go through their ups and downs. Recent results aren't great but they're doing a lot of the right things and that starts with their top-line center, Dylan Larkin. 

Over his last five games, he has 13 shots on goal, but no goals. That falls in line with what's happening for the team overall, so it's not too surprising. But we get great odds with Larkin in our NHL best bets today, and a bit of desperation with the Red Wings on a losing streak is a spot I'll always buy in. 

 

 

 

Jets vs. Flyers Prediction: Thursday, March 6th

The Winnipeg Jets are a good team but on a losing streak and I fully expect them to rebound tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers. 

With the trade deadline tomorrow, it's possible we see some players from the Flyers sit out to keep them healthy, making their lineup just a bit weaker overall, which is only a positive for the Jets – and our NHL best bets today. 

When we see good teams struggling, I like to keep things as simple as possible and trust their best players. This is where we'll turn to Kyle Connor for some shots tonight, even with a bit of juice on his prop. 

Connor has 206 shots on the season, which is good for the eighth-most in the league, and his prop is only sitting at 2.5. He has 41 shots on goal over his last 10 games, which is no surprise for the Jets. Since the 4 Nations break, they come in with 63.61 Total Shot Attempts Created per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the eighth-best in the league. 

The Flyers are an average team overall and the Jets should come out flying to break this losing streak, with Connor playing a primary role.
