Hello and welcome everyone to the Monday edition of the NHL Best Bets on March 24th, 2025! What a ridiculous weekend it was on the NHL picks as Sunday was a perfect 4-0 sweep and the weekend overall went a combined 7-1 – wow!

Wild vs. Stars Prediction: Monday, March 24th

For my NHL best bets today, in a matchup between a pair of teams headed to the playoffs more than likely, I have it tabbed as a rather snooze fest. I mean that in terms of offense; I know plenty of you out there enjoy goaltender duels, and so do I, but lighting the lamp tonight will be very difficult. 

The Minnesota Wild have parked the bus for the past 10-15 games of this regular season playing without Kirill Kaprizov and Joel Ericksson-Ek and it shows on the stat sheet as they’ve scored just 11 even-strength goals over the past 10 games! That’s dead last in the league and on the other side they are playing great defense to justify the lack of offense allowing just 10 5v5 goals in that 10-game span. 

Then you have the Dallas Stars who are a bit better on offense of course, but even they’ve slipped into the middle third in scoring over the past month. Add in some great goaltending from their star man Jake Oettinger and you can see why they’ve gone under the total in 4 of the last 6 games. 

Between Dallas and their goaltender to Minnesota being a scoring black hole, I just can’t see this game scoring 6 goals. So, give me the under on the 5.5 tonight and let’s ride the trends in our NHL best bets today.
