We have three games today with some high-flying offensive teams. Winnipeg and Carolina will be popular, but can we find some value elsewhere? Will the New York Rangers hand Montreal another road loss? Will the Jets hand Arizona their ninth loss in a row? You can build daily fantasy hockey lineups on DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo Fantasy for Friday, December 16th, but before you build those NHL daily fantasy lineups, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS projections, the NHL Value Finder, and the NHL DFS lineup generator. Let's now take a closer look at the daily fantasy hockey top plays for tonight's NHL DFS slate.

Arizona Coyotes Vs. Winnipeg Jets

Players to target: Pierre-Luc Dubois, Mark Scheifele, Kyle Connor, Nikolaj Ehlers, Cole Perfelli, Josh Morrissey, Neal Pionk, Connor Hellebuyck, Shayne Gostisbehere.

The Winnipeg Jets come into tonight as heavy favourites and I don’t expect them to disappoint. Arizona is playing their second game in as many nights, so they will run out of gas at some point. They’ve also lost eight games in a row, so there’s nothing to love about them.

I’m looking to target the Jets' top power play unit so I can get maximum exposure. Mark Scheifele, Kyle Connor, Pierre Luc Dubois, Nikolaj Ehlers and Josh Morrissey all skate on the top unit, so any combination of those players works for me. If you need to save some salary, Neal Pionk and Cole Perfetti are names to remember. Connor Hllebuyck will be popular tonight, but he might not face enough shots to hit value. We can find better value elsewhere.

For Arizona, Shayne Gostisbehere is the only player I would look at. He has the offensive upside, but can also block shots, and for $5500 on DraftKings, that’s pretty good value.

Vancouver Canucks Vs. Carolina Hurricanes

Players to target: Sebastian Aho, Paul Stastny, Martin Necas, Andrei Svechnikov, Seth Jarvis, Brent Burns, Bo Horvat, Luke Schenn, Tyler Myers

The Vancouver Canucks are playing their second game in as many nights and their third in four days. They looked pretty bad last night and they will probably look just as bad against an outstanding Carolina team.

Carolina has some really good options, including Sebastian Aho, Martin Necas and Brent Burns. Seth Jarvis and Paul Stastny are good value options to help round out your lineup. Pyotr Kochetkov should get the start tonight, but he’s really struggled in his three starts, allowing a total of 12 goals. Taking that into account and his price tag, I’ll gladly pass on him.

If you trust the Vancouver Canucks to do anything, you’re probably going to want to play Bo Horvat. He has 16 points in the last ten games and just seems unstoppable this season. The real value today is Luke Schenn and Tyler Myers. Schenn can block shots and he’s probably going to be doing that a lot in this game, while Tyler Myers has a whopping 14 shots on goal in the last two games. I have no idea what he’s been eating, but at $2600, I’ll gladly take my chances.

Montreal Canadiens Vs. New York Rangers

Players to target: Mika Zibanejad, Alexis Lafreniere, Kaapo Kakko, Vincent Trocheck, Adam Fox, Jacob Trouba, K’Andre Miller, Igor Shesterkin, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Jonathan Drouin, Joel Edmundson, Jordan Harris, Cayden Primeau.

The Montreal Canadiens suffered another road loss to the New York Islanders last night and they’ll probably suffer another one at the hands of the Rangers. They gave up a ton of shots to a mediocre Islanders team and they will have no solution for the Rangers.

New York is dealing with a bug going around the dressing room, so Artemi Panarin, Vitali Kravtsov and Ryan Lindgren are all questionable to play today. If they are out of the lineup, Kaapo Kakko and Alexis Lafreniere become almost must-play when you take into consideration their price tags. With all the salary saved from those two, you could easily pay up for Adam Fox or Jacob Trouba. Both players are in a great spot. Igor Shesterkin should get the start for this one and I trust him to pick up the win in this one.

Montreal does have some value because of the injury bug, mainly Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. We know how good both players have been for Montreal all season, so getting them at a discount just doesn’t seem fair. If you need a really cheap forward, Jonathan Drouin has four points in the last two games and is only $2600. Joel Edmondson and Jordan Harris have both been playing really well of late, so either option works for me. Montreal has been going with seven defencemen of late, but with the injury to Jake Evans, we may see them go back to the standard six.

Cayden Primeau could be in line to start this game and that’s not really bad. He’s $6500 on DK and we know he’s going to face a decent amount of shots. The question is; can he keep the puck out of his own net? We know that Chris Kreider has been ruled out for this game and if Panarin/Kravtsov can’t go, that leaves a huge hole in their top six. I don’t see Montreal winning this game, but I also don’t think Primeau gets blown out of the water. He’s a risky GPP option.
