Welcome to the Fantasy Hockey Injury Report. Once a week, we’ll take a look at some injuries around the league that may affect your fantasy hockey team. Injuries will always happen and you can’t predict when, but it’s important to be ready for the aftermath and to have a plan ready. Let’s take a look and some players who are on the shelf for the upcoming week and beyond.

Ben Bishop - Dallas Stars - Goalie

Injury: lower-body, day-to-day.

It seems like every week, a top NHL goalie get hurts. This week it’s Ben Bishop, who left Monday’s game with a lower-body injury. So far, the team hasn’t given any details on the injury, but we should get an update in the next couple of days. It doesn’t seem like Bishop will miss multiple weeks, but fantasy owners may want to look to pick up Anton Khudobin if he’s still available.

Hampus Lindholm- Anaheim Ducks - Defence

Injury: lower-body, out indefinitely.

I think I should just dedicate an entire section of the injury report to the Anaheim Ducks. Every week, they lose another key piece of their line, and this week, that name is Hampus Lindholm. The Ducks defenceman was placed on IR on Sunday and news so far is not good. He’s expected to miss multiple weeks due to his injury, but we don’t know what that “injury” is. The team should update his status at some point, but fantasy owners may want to look elsewhere for some defensive help.

Vincent Trocheck - Florida Panthers - Center

Injury: right leg, day-to-day.

Trocheck left the Panthers’ last game due to a right leg injury and did not return. The team doesn’t think his injury is serious, but his status for Wednesday is questionable. There’s a good chance that he doesn’t practice on Tuesday, so we should have a good idea if he’s going to play on Wednesday if he takes part in the morning skate. Right now, it’s best to take a wait and see approach.

Noah Juulsen - Montreal Canadiens - Defence

Injury: upper-body, day-to-day.

Juulsen too not one, but two, pucks to face on Monday night against the Washington Capitals. The team hasn’t given an update on his status, but it’s more than just day-to-day. He’s not exactly fantasy relevant, but if the young defenceman is out a couple of weeks, this will leave a small hole on the blue line for Montreal to fill. Karl Alzner has been a joke and Jordie Benn is a move cone, so giving them more ice time won’t make the Habs a better team. For now, Juulsen is questionable to play Wednesday, so let’s see what the team has to say leading up to their next game.

John Gibson - Anaheim Ducks - Goalie

Injury: flu, day-to-day.

No need to paick hockey fans, John Gibson missed his last start due to the flu. December is right around the corner and that means flu season is here. The Ducks can’t afford to have Gibson miss any time due to injury or the flu. To be honest, the only reason the Ducks aren’t last in the league is because of hoe good Gibson has played. He should probably take some time Tuesday and go get the flu shot. This would make fantasy owners very happy.
