Underdog Fantasy NHL Picks December 2nd: Dylan Larking returns against the Montreal Canadiens.
For tonight's NHL slate we have ten games on tap, which means a ton of options for player props. There are many different ways to approach props but I have selected a few of my favorites from the St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings, and New York Islanders.
NHL Underdog Fantasy Top Picks December 2
Jake Neighbors, St. Louis Blues - Higher than 2.0 Shots
Jake Neighbors has been red hot lately, seemingly out of nowhere. He was skating on the fourth line for the Blues but has been moved up to the first line and top power-play unit and it’s paying off. He’s scored seven goals in his last seven games and is shooting more since his increased playing time. He has gone higher than 2.0 shots in three of his last four games and Arizona allows the 8th most shots per game at 32.3.
Dylan Larkin, Detroit Red Wings - HIGHER than 3.0 Shots
Dylan Larkin missed a few games due to injury but he’s returning in a great spot against Montreal. The Canadiens allow the 3rd most shots per game at 34.0 and Dylan loves to shoot. He went higher than 3.0 shots in his last three games, and six times in his last nine games. The Canadiens also take a ton of penalties so he should have plenty of scoring chances in this game.
Scott Mayfield, New York Islanders - HIGHER than 2.5 Blocked Shots
Scott Mayfield has been consistently blocking shots all season. Through 15 games he has recorded 43 blocks, averaging 2.86 per game. He’s gone higher than 2.5 in five straight games and 10 of 15 on the season. This is a great matchup against Florida who took the most shots in the league last year and are currently 2nd in shots per game at 33.7. I don’t often go for blocked shots props, but this matchup is perfect for it.
