Has there ever been a better name for a fantasy site than SuperDraft? Any name that immediately makes me think of this song has to be pretty great. Not surprisingly, the game is pretty great too. SuperDraft’s contests are pretty similar to the DFS contests you’re used to, but with one major exception. Instead of choosing players while staying below a salary cap, you can choose any player at each eligible position. The twist is that each player gets a multiplier. If you play Saquon Barkley this week, you get a 1.15X multiplier. That may seem great until you consider the maximum multiplier is 2X. How confident are you that Saquon X 1.15 will outscore Nyheim Hines X 2?

If this sounds interesting to you, SuperDraft has the perfect way for you to give the game a try. They have a free $1000 Fair Catch contest to get you started, as well as multiple cash contests.

The multipliers add an interesting wrinkle to DFS, and may require a different strategy than what you are used to.

In general, I’m looking for guys with very high multipliers in Week 1. As you will see below, there are a lot of really great values, and I just can’t bring myself to pass on them for Julio Jones or Christian McCaffrey when they don’t get a multiplier. The one possible exception is wide receiver, where high multipliers are harder to find. With that in mind, here are the players I am using in my SuperDraft lineups for Sunday.

Quarterbacks

Jared Goff X2

I don’t get it. He averaged 20.1 FPPG, more than Jameis Winston , Russell Wilson , Dak Prescott and Jared Allen. Those quarterbacks all have a 1.35X multiplier or lower. I’m a little worried this offense won’t be quite as good as in 2019, but it doesn’t have to be when you’re getting 2X the fantasy points.

Sam Darnold X1.95

Darnold averaged 14.1 FPPG last season, and I expect him to be at least marginally better in his sophomore season. You can’t convince me he should have a higher multiplier than Eli Manning , Andy Dalton or Marcus Mariota

Kyler Murray X1.65

I don’t love Kyler Murray as much as some, but I can’t think of a single reason his multiplier should be higher than Lamar Jackson ’s. Murray should be at least as good a runner as Jackson, and he can’t possible we a worse passer. Again, my only concern is ownership.

Mark Ingram and Devonta Freeman X1.9

I’m going to have an awfully hard time getting away from these two. Freeman is a top-10 fantasy back when healthy, and he is healthy now. With this multiplier, I don’t even care that he’s facing what I expect is one of the best defenses in the NFL.

Ingram is an above-average running back in his own right, and we’ve seen repeatedly how running quarterbacks like TyRod Taylor and Lamar Jackson can open things up for running backs. I expect Freeman and Ingram to be the two highest owned running backs Sunday, but I’m still playing them.

Running Backs

Joe Mixon X1.5

I think Mixon is significantly better than the backs immediately above him on SuperDraft’s list. I think he’s a great value compared to Leonard Fournette and Marlon Mack X1.45.

David Johnson X1.4

Johnson was completely misused last season in a terrible offense and he was still 10th in fppg. I don’t know if Phoenix’s offense will be significantly better this season, but it can’t be worse, and I am sure he will get more than 4.75 targets per game. Detroit’s defense doesn’t scare me, either.

Devin Singletary X2

Singletary might be my riskiest pick. Even with LeSean McCoy gone, this backfield could be an ugly timeshare similar to the Bears backfield Thursday night. That being said, he is an exciting rookie, and he probably should get playing time ahead of Frank Gore and T.J. Yeldon . If Singletary is the lead back, this is likely the highest multiplier he’ll have all season.

Wide Receivers

Adam Thielen X1.5

Why is his multiplier so much higher than Stefon Diggs ’? It also doesn’t hurt he’s at home against Atlanta.

Brandin Cooks X1.5

I’m not sure why Cooks has the greatest multiplier of the Rams receivers. I don’t think there’s any doubt he’s the most explosive player and has the highest ceiling.

Calvin Ridley X1.9

I know there is touchdown regression coming, but I think he’ll get more targets because he is really, really good. It’s really crazy some of the guys who have a higher multiplier, like Josh Reynolds and Mohamed Sanu .

John Brown X2

There are fewer great values at wide receiver than at running back or quarterback, but John Brown is probably the best of the bunch. He’s clearly Buffalo’s number one receiver, and if Josh Allen has improved at all as a passer, Brown could be quite productive.

Tight Ends

Zach Ertz X1.5

Ertz has gone right around George Kittle and Travis Kelce in drafts for the last two months, but he has a much higher multiplier than those guys.

David Njoku X2

I’ve had Njoku ranked seventh among tight ends all season, so I’ll happily take the 2X multiplier. I think he’s a good player on a good offense, and I’m not afraid of Tennessee's defense.
