The bye weeks are upon us - hopefully, you were able to survive the first week in the gauntlet but there are many more to come. This week we get hit hard at the pass catching positions with Cooper Kupp, Justin Jefferson, Stefon Diggs, AJ Brown, Gabriel Davis, Adam Thielen, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and Tyler Higbee all on bye. The best way to stay afloat - and stay ahead of your opponents - is to know who is getting the playing time and the high-leverage snaps so that you can fill in the blanks on waivers when you need to. So let’s dive in!

This report is best used in conjunction with our Snap Count Tool where you can sort by team and position to see the raw numbers of snaps as well as the percentages.

NFL Snap Counts - Week 6

San Francisco 49ers

WR: Business as usual. Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel play a full snap share then they use fullback Kyle Juszczyk far too often for a third viable wide receiver.

RB: Jeff Wilson Jr. is the guy. The only threat to his workload is the pending return of Eli Mitchell.

edit: Whelp, that changed quickly - the 49ers have traded for star running back Christian McCaffrey. He's expected to have a goal line package for this week that should quickly expand to the full role. Hurts for those relying on Wilson and Mitchell.

TE: We’ve been saying this for weeks - the usage for George Kittle is not any worse than usual despite Trent Williams being out. And he showed that this week playing 59 of 60 snaps and only pass-blocking once. And guess what? Trent Williams returned to practice.

Chicago Bears

WR: Darnell Mooney at this point in time is the only wide receiver playing a full snap share (he ran 42 of 45 routes). The next highest were Dante Pettis (31) and Equanimeous St. Brown (27). Mooney is the only fantasy relevant option.

RB:  David Montgomery is the man when healthy — 56 of 72 snaps.

TE: Cole Kmet Plays a huge snap share every week and runs a ton of routes. 67 of 72 snaps this week. The pass offense is just brutal.

Cincinnati Bengals

WR: It’s Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd are the dudes. That is well documented.

RB:  Joe Mixon plays the most in all phases with Samaje Perine filling in sporadically when he needs a breather.

TE: Hayden Hurst splits some of the duty with blocking tight end Mitchell Wilcox but Hurst is preferred in the passing game. He ran 33 routes on 45 dropbacks which isn’t ideal but it could be worse.

Buffalo Bills

WR: Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs are the outside guys, Isaiah McKenzie returned to man the slot but he only played 37 of 73 snaps, even with no Jamison Crowder. Can’t really trust that.

RB:  Devin Singletary continues to be the primary, every down back. 63 of 73 snaps this week. It’s his job.

TE:  Dawson Knox has been dealing with injury but he played 62 of 73 snaps and only blocked on one pass play which was a pleasant surprise. He’ll have this bye week to get fully healthy.

Cleveland Browns

WR: Same as usual — Amari Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones play full snap shares on the outside, David Bell plays in the slot.

RB:  The classic narrative: Nick Chubb skews run downs, Kareem Hunt skews pass downs.

TE:  David Njoku has been a bright spot in the tight end landscape — he ran 36 routes which was only two fewer than Amari Cooper.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

WR: Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are the two full time guys. If they are your Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase at split end and flanker, Russell Gage would be the Tyler Boyd here playing a good chunk of snaps but coming out for two WR sets.

RB: As of now, Leonard Fournette is the only one you can trust in your lineups. But Rachaad White is one of the more valuable handcuffs out there as the clear next man up.

TE: Any time Cameron Brate is out, Cade Otton is worth a potential spot start (or at least DFS stab). In week 5, he played 74 of 79 snaps.

Denver Broncos

WR: Courtland Sutton played literally every single snap, Jeudy played 53 of 58. When they want to go three WR sets, KJ Hamler comes in and Jeudy moves to the slot but they use enough tight ends that Hamler only played 33 of 58 snaps.

RB: Melvin Gordon was benched in favor of Latavius Murray and Mike Boone but he apparently had a “great talk” with the coach and he will be starting again. Kind of a nightmare situation right now so it’s best to wait and see if you can.

TE: Greg Dulcich has arrived. A lot of times I pour cold water on a guy that comes out and scored a TD in his first game but check out these usage numbers. Add him while you can.

Arizona Cardinals

WR: DeAndre Hopkins will be back this week but Marquise Brown is set to miss multiple weeks. They traded for Robbie Anderson in the meantime. Hopkins is a stud so it will be interesting to see how the snaps shake out between Rondale Moore, AJ Green, Greg Dortch, and Robbie Anderson. Rondale is likely the best bet given his usage.

RB: When James Conner is out, Eno Benjamin has been the guy. Darrel Williams is also banged up so rookie Keaontay Ingram should suit up.

TE: Zach Ertz is the man here — 67 of 71 snaps. We just need to see what the targets look like with Hopkins back.

Dallas Cowboys

WR: It’s Noah Brown, Michael Gallup, and CeeDee Lamb. No one else played more than three snaps.

RB:  Typical split — Ezekiel Elliott gets the important snaps, Tony Pollard mixes in.

TE: Dalton Schultz excited the game with knee soreness so Peyton Hendershot and Jake Ferguson chipped in. Despite the production by Ferguson, Henderson ran 23 routes to his 17.

Los Angeles Chargers

WR: Keenan Allen remains out and could be out through the bye. Mike Williams, Josh Palmer, and DeAndre Carter are the guys anytime he is out. Carter is likely the odd man out when he returns.

RB:  Austin Ekeler is the guy. Joshua Kelley got banged up and might miss multiple weeks so Sony Michel is the new change of pace back.

TE: Gerald Everett ran 39 of 67 routes with Tre McKitty (20) and Donald Parham (12) mixing in. When Keenan Allen gets back, he won’t be nearly as exciting.

Kansas City Chiefs

WR: JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling play full snap shares — Mecole Hardman and Skyy Moore rotate making it hard to trust either

RB:  In pass heavy game scripts, Jerick McKinnon often plays more than Clyde Edwards-Helaire. That’s what happened this week in the loss to the Chiefs.

TE: Travis Kelce is the best in the business. Locked in, every week.

Indianapolis Colts

WR: Last week we speculated that perhaps Alec Pierce had earned a shot at getting more snaps than Parris Campbell. The Colts disagreed as Parris Campbell played literally every snap this week (81 of 81). Michael Pittman played 80 and Alex Pierce played 53. That will hurt Pierce’s ceiling for the time being.

RB: Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines remained out so it was the Deon Jackson show. Both are expected back this week so the show is over.

TE: Still a huge mess here. 31 snaps for both Jelani Woods and Kylen Granson, 28 for Mo Alie-Cox. Yuck.

Washington Commanders

WR: The starters are Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel, and Jahan Dotson. With Dotson out, Cam Sims was the next man up.

RB: Brian Robinson is clearly the lead dog. JD McKissic plays his passing role and Antonio Gibson has been relegated to third man. Ouch.

TE: With Logan Thomas out and John Bates also banged up, Cole Turner played a huge role. Could be a sneaky DFS play or spot start in deep leagues.

Miami Dolphins

WR: Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill are locked in, Trent Sherfield rotates in the slot with Mike Gesicki.

RB: Raheem Mostert is the starter. Chase Edmonds plays some pass downs but is not involved much in the run game.

TE:  Don’t be fooled by this production by Mike Gesicki. When Durham Smythe returns, his snaps will drop back down.

Philadelphia Eagles

WR: DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown — those are the boys on the outside. Quez Watkins continues to play slot but limited snaps with only 42 of 71.

RB:  Miles Sanders is dialed in as the main option. Kenneth Gainwell is the next most relevant since he gets sporadic pass work.

TE: Dallas Goedert played 70 of 73 snaps last week, 70 of 71 this week. He did not block on a single pass play. Very nice.

Atlanta Falcons

WR: Not much throwing this game but Drake London and Olamide Zaccheaus continue to get the snaps. They use two tight ends so no room for a third WR really.

RB: With Cordarrelle Patterson on IR, rookie Tyler Allgeier got the most snaps by far. He’s a viable fantasy option where you need him.

TE: Parker Hesse is the in-line tight end, Kyle Pitts plays a lot of slot and out wide. He has a 23% target share which is third best amount tight ends but they just aren’t throwing a lot.

New York Giants

WR: They rolled out their rag tag crew once again but Wan’Dale Robinson was the most interesting in his first game. He only played 15 snaps but made the most of them. Expect that number to come up alongside Darius Slayton and Marcus Johnson.

RB: Saquon Barkley is the man. Great usage again.

TE: Daniel Bellinger finally got a chance to play all the tight end snaps but that was mostly because Tanner Hudson was sick (missed practice Thursday and Friday). Bellinger is a stash but I’d like to see a game with a healthy Hudson. Up until this week, Hudson had run more routes on the season.

Jacksonville Jaguars

WR: Marvin Jones was out so it was Zay Jones and Christian Kirk with Tim Jones as the third guy. They used a lot of two TE sets though so Tim Jones is off the radar.

RB: Travis Etienne continues to play more than James Robinson but it might be game script dependent. The Jags are favored this week, so maybe it’s a James Robinson game.

TE: Evan Engram continues to run a good number of routes and be involved - 16 targets over the last two weeks. He needs to find paydirt but he’s a solid full PPR option.

New York Jets

WR: Trouble in paradise — Elijah Moore expressed his displeasure, requested a trade, and will reportedly not be active this week. That means we’ll get Corey Davis and Garrett Wilson with Braxton Berrios in the slot.

RB: Breece Hall has taken over this backfield. 20 carries to only 6 for Michael Carter. Carter oddly was asked to run block on 11 of his 27 snaps.

TE: CJ Uzomah out-snapped Tyler Conklin again. Neither is viable but Conklin is dust.

Detroit Lions

BYE

Green Bay Packers

WR: Allen Lazard and Romeo Doubs play virtually every snap. The rest were splitting but now Randall Cobb is out for a couple weeks. Christian Watson is also ruled out so it will be Amari Rodgers and Juwann Winfree

RB: 41 snaps for Aaron Jones, 36 for AJ Dillon. Not ideal.

TE: Robert Tonyan finally ramped up to a decent snap share though he still only ran 39 routes on 51 drop backs. With the WR injuries, he becomes more appealing.

Carolina Panthers

WR: Robbie Anderson was traded so factor him out. DJ Moore played every snap though they only had 44 offensive snaps. It should be Terrace Marshall opposite Moore with Shi Smith in the slot.

RB: BIG news here with Christian McCaffrey traded to the 49ers. It should be D’Onta Foreman as the starter with Chuba Hubbard mixing in.

TE: Tommy Tremble led with 13 routes, Ian Thomas with 8. No viable TE here.

New England Patriots

WR: Jakobi Meyers led the charge with 57 snaps but it was the rookie Tyquan Thornton who flashed with two touchdowns on 40 snaps. Hot waiver claim.

RB: Rhamondre Stevenson ran the show with 60 of 70 snaps but Damien Harris practiced in full this week so it’s back to the old split most likely.

TE: Over the last two weeks, Hunter Henry has played every snap except three. And that’s with Jonnu Smith back — Smith played 30.

Las Vegas Raiders

BYE

Los Angeles Rams

WR: Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson played their full snap shares but Robinson actually did something for once. Ben Skowronek is the next man up until Van Jefferson returns.

RB: Interesting turn with Cam Akers taking time away from the team. Darrell Henderson is the guy now and Malcolm Brown will mix in.

TE: Tyler Higbee has been a little banged up but he gets the bye week this week to rest up. When healthy, he’s been playing 90%+ of the snaps.

Baltimore Ravens

WR: No Rashod Bateman means it’s Demarcus Robinson and Devin Duvernay. But Bateman is expected to return this week so Robinson is back on the back burner.

RB:  With JK Dobbins having microsurgery, Kenyan Drake is an interesting start - at last until Gus Edwards returns.

TE: Andrews got a limited practice in so we expect him to go. If he can’t Isaiah Likely because a great start. He’s a DFS stab either way.

New Orleans Saints

WR: No Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry again. Marquez Callaway, Tre’Quan Smith, and Keith Kirkwood played the snaps.

RB: Alvin Kamara played his full workload. 50 of 72. Mark Ingram chips in and Taysom Hill vultures.

TE: With Adam Trautman banged up, Juwan Johnson got extra work and six targets. He’s a streaming option for as long as Trautman is out.

Seattle Seahawks

WR: Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf are the only wide receivers worth worrying about here.

RB: Kenneth Walker took over the backfield as expected with Rashaad Penny out. Good times for those who have him.

TE: Will Dissly (44) and Noah Fant (43) split the snaps evenly but Fant ran more routes (25 to 18). Still not enough.

Pittsburgh Steelers

WR: Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool, George Pickens. This one is easy. Those guys are dialed in, unless the Chase Claypool trade rumors come to fruition.

RB: Najee Harris took his job back here with 44 snaps to 20 for Jaylen Warren. We like that much better than the even split last week.

TE: Pat Freiermuth should return this week to take his job back from Zach Gentry.

Houston Texans

BYE

Tennessee Titans

BYE

Minnesota Vikings

WR: Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen are the full time guys, KJ Osborn played 31 of 52.

RB: Dalvin Cook is locked in - 45 of 52 snaps. Alexander Mattison is the handcuff.

TE: Irv Smith still isn’t playing full snap share. He played 33 of 52 snaps and ran 22 of 35 routes. Johnny Mundt chips in as the blocking tight end but only ran 8 routes.
