Commanders vs. Giants Predictions for NFL Week 9, Sunday 11/3

When we say that the Commanders and Giants are on opposite trajectories, that was not the thought heading into this season. After finishing last year with 4-13 and 6-11 records, respectively, they were expected to be out of the running in the NFC East yet again.

However, Washington rookie QB Jayden Daniels has changed things. Of course, he was among the biggest storylines of last Sunday with his rib injury, but was able to play anyway, leading the Commanders to a dramatic last-second victory. Meanwhile, the Giants yet again fell in prime time.

Therefore, we’re not surprised that the Commanders vs. Giants odds have Washington as clear favorites, even on the road. We’re indeed predicting a Washington win as well, but can they cover the spread? Well, let’s dive further in so that we can answer that with the top pick from our Commanders vs. Giants predictions!

Washington Commanders: Play Of The Year?

For as much turmoil as there has been surrounding the Washington franchise in recent years, seemingly hitting the jackpot with #2 overall pick Jayden Daniels may have completely swung things. Not only has he already made himself a legit MVP candidate, but he may have pulled off the play of the year last Sunday.

We’ve all seen it by now, but the hail mary as time expired was a thing of beauty. Of course, the Chicago Bears helped by tipping the pass up rather than down for the Commanders to convert, but the nearly 60-yard air throw by Daniels got it there. It was certainly among the best plays thus far and may still be at the season’s end.

New York Giants: Hot Seat(s)

On the flip side of that emotional win was the Giants third straight loss. With the New York market being a massive one, they get several prime time games a year, and this recent loss came on Monday Night Football, dropping the G-Men to 2-6 on the year.

Even prior to that loss there were rumblings of benching QB Daniel Jones and firing head coach Brian Daboll, so now, they’re even louder. We haven’t heard as much breaking news as the neighboring New York Jets, but if things remain at this pace, time will tell just how long of a leash there is for Jones, Daboll and others.

Commanders vs. Giants Odds, Spreads, Total & Betting Lines

While the Commanders vs. Giants odds are nearly identical across the board, we still made sure to get the best value for you, which is why we used the lines at FanDuel Sportsbook:

Commanders vs. Giants Predictions: Washington -3.5 (-104 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

Not only is this the best bet from our Commanders vs. Giants predictions, but it’s among our favorites of the entire Week 9 slate. Our projections have Washington as a favorite of around six points, which is a major discrepancy with the actual line.

That may sound surprising given that they’re on the road, and the fact that NFC East rivalries often create wild matchups, but we have no reason to doubt Daniels and company in this spot. After all, they were already able to buck the trend when these teams met in Week 2 of this season.

Heading into that matchup, Washington had been 0-4 against the spread against the G-Men the past two seasons. While it was indeed a close matchup, they ended that streak and have only improved since then. Similarly, New York has only looked worse, not to mention the feeling of hopelessness surrounding the franchise.

New York allows the fifth-most rushing yards per game, so look for a big scrambling day from Daniels to lead them to the win and the top pick from our Commanders vs. Giants predictions of Washington -3.5 (-104 at FanDuel Sportsbook) hitting for us!

Commanders vs. Giants Injury Report & Latest News
