Are you ready for your NFL Week 5 DFS picks? Are you? If your answer is yes, then you need to do me a favor and put everything from last week behind you. Gone. It doesn't matter. That's the beauty of daily fantasy football, right? That your performance the week before has absolutely no bearing on what you do this week. So forget about the fact that we lost in our cash games last week. And forget about your GPP tournament winnings too. If you're throwing out the bad, you also have to throw out the good. We get a fresh start here in Week 5 and that's where we are at. We have a massive NFL Injury Report to go over this week and make sure we are finding the best DFS value plays to go along with those high-priced chalk plays we are anxious to squeeze into our lineups. I've been buried in all of our content, all of the NFL news and have been working on a number of lineups using ONLY the players here in the DFS Playbook. I'll be working a few GPP lineups as well once I finalize the DFS Dart Board, but for your cash game play, if you stick to the Playbook and stick to the process, everything else should be cream cheese.

Now, before we get to the Playbook players, allow me to remind you what you should be doing leading up this step in your research.

Step 1: Check out the DFS Position Coaches

QB Coach – Jon Impemba (@jimpemba777)

RB Coach -- Justin Vreeland (@JustinVreeland)

WR Coach -- Colby Conway (@colbyrconway)

TE Coach -- Andrew Cooper (@CoopAFiasco)

D/ST Coach -- Dan Malin (@RealDANlanta)

Step 2: Check out the rest of the relevant DFS content

In addition to the positional coaching pieces, you also have things like the DFS Watch List, where I provide you with a list of players I am looking at throughout the week. We have the NFL DFS Podcast with me and Jon Impemba, who also does the Contrarian Corner video and check out the DFS Bargains from Tera Roberts (@ItsTeraTime).

Also, our Master of Tools, Matt Selz (@theselzman), supplies you data junkies with the Weekly Match-Up Report and everyone should also be checking out the WR/CB Match-Up Report from Ryan Hallam (@fightingchance).

Speaking of tools, we have also done some major enhancements with our NFL tools. We continue to crunch the numbers and tweak our algorithms so that our daily fantasy football projections are the best in the industry and that, in turn, has improved things like our Lineup Generator/DFS Optimizer, our DFS Compare tool and even our NFL DFS Ownership Projections. Again, all right here on one site for your convenience.

Step 3: Make your own list of players

It's real easy to just sit and wait for the Playbook, but as you are doing your research throughout the week, it is important to make notes and list the players who interest you the most. Maybe they end up in the Playbook and maybe they don't. If they're there, then great, it should mean we are honing in on the same things that make him a strong play. If not, maybe you're onto something else that someone overlooked. We aren't perfect and if you uncover something different, maybe you're right. I would be careful of routine groupthink and hype from beat writers, but often times someone will tell me something they saw about their local team that I missed and I am always looking to investigate more if its there. If you do, then say something in our Fantasy Alarm Discord Chat, Talk it out and see what the rest of the #FAmily thinks. That's why the chat is there, isn't it?

With those three steps complete and discussions are in progress, you are ready to look at the Playbook players, make comparisons and finalize your list for lineups, so let's get to it.

QBJosh AllenPIT @ BUF Sun 1:0082009000

When a game has a 14-point spread, I'm always worried that the favored team runs heavily and we're wasting our time using their QB in DFS. However, these are the Bills we are talking about and, if you recall, back when they were destroying the Titans 41-7 back in Week 2, the Bills were still very much throwing well into the third quarter and Allen was still running for first downs like the game was on the line. If they're going to win this one by two touchdowns then it's because they've built another insurmountable lead and to do that, Allen will be throwing heavily whether Minkah Fitzpatrick is there or not. The Steelers have allowed 251.8 passing yards per game with seven touchdowns through the air and while they've had their shining moments, the Bills defense is going to be all over Kenny Pickett and we are likely to see a lot of three-and-outs. That puts the Steelers defense on the field for way too long.

QBJalen HurtsPHI @ ARI Sun 4:2581008600

Many believe this to be a trap-game for the Eagles and their undefeated season could be in jeopardy, but we don't actually care whether they win or lose, just so long as they're still scoring points. Even in a torrential downpour, Hurts managed to have a respectable fantasy day to lead the Eagles past the upstart Jaguars last week. Now he takes this act on the road to face the Cardinals in beautiful, sunny Arizona. The travel will be the worst part of Hurts' time out west as the Cardinals pass defense ranks 28th in DVOA and is allowing an average of 255.8 passing yards per game with eight touchdowns allowed through the air. Opposing quarterbacks have posted a 103.9 passer rating against them which is the seventh-best in the league. Expect Hurts to throw for a score or two and count on him to run at least one in himself.

QBJustin HerbertLAC @ CLE Sun 1:0071008200

This one is going to be a tricky one and if you opt to use Herbert, understand that things could be very slow-going for him in the first half, so if you do use him, don't come at me after two quarters and complain. The Browns have a strong pass-rush and the Chargers lost LT Rashawn Slater for the season, so right off the bat, things are going to be tricky. You also have the Browns running hard with Nick Chubb (more on that later), so there's a good chance this game grinds slowly. But the passing attack is this team's bread and butter and we know Joe Lombardi will immediately default to it against a secondary that, despite getting back Greedy Williams this week, still struggles in coverage at times. It won't be pretty, but Herbert will get his numbers.

Game Type: CASH & GPP

QBTom BradyATL @ TB Sun 1:0060007800

As I said in the Watch List, this game could be all about Brady taking out all his frustrations on a Falcons team he has routinely owned in the past. From the Super Bowl comeback with the Patriots to averaging over 38 points in four-straight victories over Atlanta, Brady has had no issues breaking the hearts of the entire Falcons fanbase. He'll also have all his weapons back as Mike Evans will be joined by Chris Godwin and possibly even Julio Jones this week. Russell Gage was just downgraded to questionable with a new back injury so we're not banking on him. Still, the Falcons pass defense is allowing 260 yards per game with seven touchdowns on the year. AJ Terrell is their best cover guy, so all Brady needs to do is throw away from him which shouldn't be too difficult.

Game Type: GPP
Weather: Sunny skies with temps in the low 80's. Very light winds and no rain in the forecast.
QBTrevor LawrenceHOU @ JAC Sun 1:0056007600

For better or for worse, I am very much in on the Jaguars this week. The obvious reason is that they are playing the Texans whose defense ranks 16th against the pass and 29th against the run, according to DVOA. James Robinson was already here in the Watch List and it's time now to add Lawrence who is seeing the benefits of having an actual NFL coach with an actual offensive scheme in place. The Jaguars will use the run to set up the pass and while Lawrence won't be required to chuck the ball all over the place, he is going to throw enough to rack up some strong fantasy points and be viable for both cash games and GPP tournaments. The price on DK is absolutely mouthwatering so expect him to be highly-owned over there. He's up there in cost on FD, but I wouldn't let it deter you from using him.

QBCarson WentzLV @ KC Mon 8:1557006800

No one will be on Wentz after that debacle of a game against Dallas. I feel like when we talk about him, it's like we're talking about Shane Falco and that Sugar Bowl appearance. What a bloody shambles that game was! You could smell the stink all the way back in Wales! But sometimes you have to take what you saw and put it away. The Dallas defense is a lot tougher than Tennessee's every will be, so let's focus on the fact that the Titans pass defense is allowing the most passing yards per game (274) and has given up 10 touchdowns through the air already. Call me crazy, but even without Jahan Dotson, he's got too many good weapons to screw this one up.

Game Type: GPP

QBAndy DaltonSF @ CAR Sun 4:0552006500

Everyone can crap all over Dalton all they want. I'm not ever going to argue that he is a good quarterback. But in the realm of the sun shining on a dog's ass at least once, I'm locking Dalton and a Saints stack into my GPP lineups as they face the Seahawks this week. Seattle ranks dead-last in DVOA against the pass, they've given up 274 passing yards per game, seven passing touchdowns on the season and opposing quarterbacks have posted a 107.1 passer rating against them. They made Jared Goff look like Drew Brees last week, they've allowed an average of just over 28 points per game and when the hapless Broncos scored their season-high in points, it was against Seattle. I'm not saying this game is going to pop the way SEA/DET did last week, but I'm willing to bet it's going to be up there in games in which we wish we were more invested.

RBNick ChubbLAC @ CLE Sun 1:0080009400

Anyone else notice how easily you can run on the Chargers right now? Dameon Pierce carved them up last week even in a losing effort, James Robinson did it to them the week before and even CEH ranked up 74 yards on just eight carries back in Week 2. The loss of Joey Bosa is huge, even with Khalil Mack on the other side of the field. Chubb has looked absolutely spectacular over the course of the season so far, ranking second in league in rushing attempts, rushing yards, rushing yards per game and rushing touchdowns. His price tag makes it very difficult to fit him into cash lineups, but we've identified enough quality value-plays to make it happen. Look for the Browns to attack with him early and often.

Game Type: CASH & GPP
Weather: Temps in the mid 60's with clear skies.
RBDalvin CookDAL @ LA Sun 4:2573007300

Considering the Saints run defense is usually solid, Cook owners should be happy with his 76 yards on 20 carries in his first game since dislocating his shoulder. We even saw him involved in the passing game, so you have to be encouraged for this week against a Bears defense that is allowing 184.3 rushing yards per game, the most allowed by any team in the league. The workload is not only encouraging given the shoulder issue, but also given the offensive scheme and how pass-heavy Kevin O'Connell likes to be. If he's softened on that stance, then not only will it boost the value of Cook, but also that of Kirk Cousins who passes better out of play-action.

RBJames RobinsonSEA @ NO Sun 1:0063008000

I say it all the time – I don't put a guy on the cover of the Playbook without a very good reason and if you heard me on Friday's Fantasy Alarm Show on SiriusXM, you'll know that I also made JRob my Fantasy Play of the Week. It was a tough game in the rain for Robinson last week, but, fortunately, he's got the cure for what ails all running backs – the Houston Texans. Just ask Austin Ekeler who finally broke out against these very same Texans. Houston is allowing the second-most rushing yards per game (172) and they've given up five rushing touchdowns as well. We've seen Robinson dominate before, so this match-up should prove to be one in which we heavily invest.

Game Type: CASH & GPP
Weather: This game will be played in a dome.
RBLeonard FournettePIT @ BUF Sun 1:0069007800

Just like Brady, Fournette gets back on-track this week thanks to a match-up against a Falcons run defense that ranks 26th in DVOA and has allowed an average of 126.3 rushing yards per game with four rushing touchdowns allowed. While we expect Brady to do well against tis Falcons defense, we also need to keep in mind that he doesn't want to throw 40 times per game, so there is an expected lean on Fournette, for sure. Forget about the three carries last week as the Bucs were laying from behind. Expect something more like the 20-odd carries he saw through the first two weeks of the season.

Game Type: CASH & GPP

RBAlvin KamaraSEA @ NO Sun 1:0066007000

Better start warming up your singing voice! Did you miss my song? I hope not because it will be even more appropriate following this game. It's going to be very difficult for anyone to trust Kamara after these last two weeks, but to me, that just means we get him at lower ownership rates than had he actually been performing like the Kamara we know and expect. What we're hoping for is a return to the Kamara of old and by that we just mean he's getting the touches we want, including the passing work. The Seattle run defense has been terrible this far, allowing 154 rushing yards per game and they rank 27th in DVOA against running back pass-plays. With Andy Dalton under center, we should see a heavy dose of rushing as well as countless check-downs which makes this game a very strong opportunity to show some DFS love to the Saints.

RBDamien HarrisPIT @ BUF Sun 1:0056007200

Just like last week when we figured Bill Belichick would go with a run-heavy scheme rather than get into a shootout with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, we expect something very similar this week against the Lions now that we know Bailey Zappe will be the guy under center for New England. The Lions run defense is absolutely horrendous, ranking dead-last in DVOA against the run and allowing 165.5 rushing yards per game (third-most in the league) with a whopping 10 rushing touchdowns allowed. Harris usually gets the edge in carries and has been the guy near the goal line, but again…

RBRhamondre StevensonDET @ NE Sun 1:0055006000

…this is a spot where both can eat and if you are looking to save a few extra bucks on FanDuel, then Stevenson should definitely be considered here. He's averaged 13 carries and five targets over the last two games and should hit those numbers again this week. Depending on Belichick and the flow of this game, he could be in for an even heavier workload. Most people are on the Lions for this game, but you just cannot rule out the Patriots. Not at home, not against a defense this soft and not against a coach whose football IQ is probably a few ticks below that of the Mad Genius.

RBDevin SingletaryNYG @ GB Sun 9:3061006000

This has more to do with what the masses are doing, at least according to our NFL Ownership Forecaster. Singletary didn't really pop for me when I was doing my research this week, but the Bills are favored by 14 points which, to most, means that we will see a heavy dose of rushing in the second half of a game well in-hand for Buffalo. And with Singletary's price where it is, the expectation is that he will be heavily owned and usable in cash games. The Steelers rank 15th in DVOA against the run, allow an average of 131.5 rushing yards per game, have given up three rushing touchdowns and even rank 17th in DVOA against running back pass plays so there is statistical data to support this. If you are looking for a different pay-down and one you believe will keep pace with the masses, then Singletary should be your guy.

Game Type: CASH & GPP
RBRaheem MostertMIA @ NYJ Sun 1:0050005800

The Jets did a nice job containing Najee Harris last week but face a different type of runner in Mostert and a different type of blocking scheme. Mostert is a strong one-cut back who thrives in an outside zone-blocking scheme and uses his speed to beat the edge rushers to the outside and, before you know it, he's off to the races. The Jets have allowed an average of 108.8 rushing yards per game but they've allowed five rushing touchdowns on the season. Yes, Chase Edmonds has been seeing most of the green zone touches, but Mostert has three for himself over the last two games and we've seen him used more and more as he gets healthier. This could be a breakout game as the Fins are likely to lean heavier on the run early on.

Game Type: GPP
Weather: Sunny skies and temps in the low 60's with low winds.
WRCooper KuppDAL @ LA Sun 4:2596009500

Kupp should just be an automatic for the Playbook each week as he has been insanely dominant through the first four weeks of the season and is showing no signs of slowing down. He's had three games with double-digit catches and over 100 receiving yards and the one game he came up short on the receptions, he still to an end-around into the end zone for a 20-yard touchdown. Head coach Sean McVay said that Matthew Stafford needs to learn how to spread the ball around more often, but we know that's just not going to be the case. Even with Trevon Diggs likely shadowing him, Kupp should have no problem receiving double-digit targets and turning them into a highly-productive game.

WRStefon DiggsHOU @ JAC Sun 1:0084008600

What's not to love about Stefon Diggs? He's third in receptions, third in total receiving yards, second in receiving yards per game and first in receiving touchdowns. As mentioned previously, the Steelers have allowed an average of 251.5 passing yards per game with seven touchdowns allowed through the air. He's Josh Allen's No. 1 guy and while yes, the Steelers may float some safety help in his direction, Diggs should have little to no issue beating the coverage. If you can squeeze that price in, you know Allen is going to give the Bills the lead with several passes headed in Diggs' direction.

Game Type: CASH & GPP
Weather: Partly cloudy skies with temps in the high 70's. No rain in the forecast.
WRTyreek HillMIA @ NYJ Sun 1:0080008400

The obvious caveat is that Hill is dealing with a quad injury, so you're going to have to check his status. And no, if Hill is out, this analysis does not just default to Jaylen Waddle. If Hill is out the Jets secondary will have a much stronger game-plan in place to take Waddle out of the equation. But if Hill is healthy and good to go for this game, we very much like him for our lineups. Teddy Bridgewater or not, Hill should be in-play against the Jets slot-corner Michael Carter II. His ability to pick up yards after the catch has always been a strong suit of his and we expect to see him put those skills and his speed onstage for this one. Bridgewater may not be able to throw that hero ball downfield like everyone wants to see, but he can certainly handle the short, high-percentage passing that Mike McDaniel favors. We'll let Hill handle the touchdowns on his own. And yes, if Hill does play, Waddle is very much in-play as well and at a much more reasonable price.

Game Type: CASH & GPP
Weather: Sunny skies and temps in the low 60's with low winds.
WRA.J. BrownPHI @ ARI Sun 4:2575008000

While the DVOA coverage numbers for the Cardinals look good on paper, this match-up against cornerback Marco Wilson looks like something we very much want to exploit. Arizona loves to play press-man coverage and for those who don't know what that is, it is one-on-one coverage where the defensive back is up on the line against the receiver and tries to jack him up and take him off his route. Or at least kill the timing of the play. But Brown has a significant physical advantage over Wilson, so that may work a small handful of times, but it will not hold Brown down for the week. Arizona has allowed an average of 255 passing yards per game, opposing quarterbacks have been carving up their secondary and they've given up eight touchdowns through the air this season. This is also one of three late games on the slate and it has the highest game total, so we love being invested in some late-game hammer.

WRDeebo SamuelSF @ CAR Sun 4:0577007300

While the Panthers aren't giving up a ton of yards through the air, they have allowed an average of 134 rushing yards per game with five rushing touchdowns allowed on the season. Since Samuel works as both a running back and a receiver AND he's priced down as a mid-tier guy on FanDuel, he's definitely in-play for all DFS contests this week. He's been dynamic on both fronts and his ability to rack up yards after the catch and after contact have been a huge boost to those who have him in their lineups. Looks for another strong effort this week.

WRChristian KirkHOU @ JAC Sun 1:0066007600

There are apparently no weather concerns in Jacksonville this weekend, so we can all feel a lot more comfortable about using our Jaguars, especially Kirk who has definitely played the part of a top wide receiver in the NFL. He's averaged nine targets per game and in the first three games, he's averaged six catches per game, has amassed 267 receiving yards and caught three touchdowns. He should have no issues against this Houston secondary that ranks 21st in DVOA against the opposition's top receiver and has allowed an average of 105.7 yards per game to them.

Game Type: CASH & GPP
Weather: Partly cloudy skies with temps in the high 70's. No rain in the forecast.
WRMike WilliamsPIT @ BUF Sun 1:0071007400

With Keenan Allen out and Joshua Palmer banged-up, Big Mike is looking at a lot of targets this week against a secondary that has had its difficulties throughout the first four weeks of the season. Cleveland ranks 18th in DVOA against the pass and 29th against the opposing WR2. Now things could get shuffled around here, depending on who is playing where, but this offensive scheme funnels targets to the X-receiver and that's Williams. Again, if we are right about Chubb running hard on the Chargers thus increasing Los Angeles' need to throw, Big Mike is going to see enough looks to keep him viable for both cash games and GPP tournaments.

Game Type: CASH & GPP

WRDK MetcalfSEA @ NO Sun 1:0068007100

As I stated in the Watch List earlier this week, I completely whiffed on the Lockett over Metcalf call last week and am now thoroughly convinced that Metcalf is the guy Geno Smith has his eyes locked onto routinely. The Saints rank 22nd in DVOA against the opposing No. 1 receiver and we also know that Marshon Lattimore is not the shutdown corner he used to be. He's seen double-digit targets in each of the last two weeks and should have a third-straight dominant performance as the Seahawks look to carry last week's win momentum into Week 5. This isn't to say that Lockett hasn't stung together some quality game and you can totally use him to run back against the Saints stack we are looking at if you need to save some money, but I'm likely to hang onto Metcalf for that.

WRChris GodwinATL @ TB Sun 1:0059007000

With all of the Bucs receivers likely available for this game, the big question is which way will Brady go? In the Watch List, I had Mike Evans listed and am still fairly bullish on him, but mostly for GPP tournaments because of his touchdown upside. But Godwin is in a fantastic spot as the primary slot-receiver for Tampa and he will be matched up against a rookie slot-corner in Dee Alford who has played well to date, but could struggle against the more-experienced Godwin, especially without strong safety help over the top. Brady might look to Evans for the deep work and they could connect on a long score, but Godwin is the bread and butter here and should see ample opportunities between the 20s and inside the red zone.

Game Type: CASH & GPP

WRChris OlaveSEA @ NO Sun 1:0057006900

With news that Michael Thomas is out for this week, my attention immediately turns to Olave for this match-up against Seattle. Jarvis Landry is likely in-play too, but from everything we've seen from the rookie wideout over these first four games, we are convinced that he is a big-game guy and will be a DFS darling for quite some time. Yes, it's Andy Dalton under center, but this Seahawks secondary and overall pass-defense is so bad, you can't help but want to get this kid into your lineups and into a Saints stack. He saw seven targets last week but has 13 in each of the two games prior. Obviously, you want to see the double-digit targets, but we're not going to get greedy as Olave is one of those guys who will make the most out of whatever he gets.

WRRobert WoodsHOU @ JAC Sun 1:0052005900

The targets have been a little erratic through the first four games, but that's what happens on a team that is run-first and ALWAYS stays run-first. But if you're looking for a DFS pay-down for your third wideout, Woods offers up some potential against the Commanders. While Derrick Henry will set the tone, the Titans are still going to have to pass the ball and with Treylon Burks doubtful for this game, Woods should see a slight bump in targets. We're also looking at Nick Westbrook-Ihkine and Kyle Phillips in this match-up as the Commanders secondary is really bad.

Game Type: CASH & GPP
Weather: Partly cloudy skies with temps in the high 70's. No rain in the forecast.
WRCurtis SamuelPIT @ BUF Sun 1:0058005800

The Titans are allowing the fourth-most passing yards per game this season and they've allowed a league-high 10 touchdowns through the air, so while Terry McLaurin is there and could be a nice GPP darling, Jahan Dotson is out so I'm definitely going to invest in Samuel this week. He's been quiet these last two weeks, but should have a game more closely resembling what he did in the first two weeks than what we saw in these last two weeks. With his ability to run the ball, as well as be a strong receiving option, Samuel should be used a little more heavily in that wide-back role we know Scott Turner likes to use him in.

TEGeorge KittleSF @ CAR Sun 4:0552006500

This is not a great week for tight ends overall, so many people are likely to pay down at the position. That is certainly understandable, but Kittle's price tag, at least on DK, isn't at the spot you usually see for the top-tier like Travis Kelce or Mark Andrews. I don't think you can sweat the cost too much as you know he can be a very active part of the passing game, especially with Jimmy Garoppolo under center. The Panthers haven't given up much in the way of fantasy points to the tight end, but they do rank 26th in DVOA against the position and they have allowed two receiving touchdowns to tight end this season.

Arizona ranks 29th in DVOA against the tight end and they're allowing and average of almost 85 yards per game to them. We were told throughout the preseason that Isaiah Simmons was going to be the key to shutting down opposing tight ends, but he has struggled massively so far. Goedert sees the third-most target on this Eagles team and he should continue to be a solid option at a weak position.

TEZach ErtzTEN @ WAS Sun 1:0048005900

Anyone up for a little revenge-game narrative this week? Like I said, there isn't a whole lot separating the tight ends this week, so if your budget allows it, this is a great spot for Ertz against his former team. Guys always step it up when they face the team that drafted them and Ertz had a somewhat bitter divorce from Philly when he left. The Eagles may rank ninth in DVOA against the tight end, but they've also allowed the sixth-most fantasy points per game tot he position. The receiving corps still isn't 100% so Ertz should see ample targets handling all the underneath work and I could also see the Cardinals letting him find the end zone just to show his old team what they could be missing.

TEGerald EverettCHI @ MIN Sun 1:0042006300

With no top-tier tight ends available, we take a slight step down in price and turn to one of the more reliable options in Everett who has averaged just over six targets per game, routinely sees looks from Justin Herbert in the red zone and has one touchdowns on the season. The Browns are allowing the 10th-most fantasy point per game to tight ends and rank 14th in DVOA against the position. We are going to have to watch him closely over the next two days, though as he has been hampered by a recent hamstring injury, but if he's good to go, Keenan Allen remains out AND Josh Palmer is banged-up, his value gets a slight bump.

This is all about the targets as Matthew Stafford's first pivot off Cooper Kupp happens to be Higbee. The Rams tight end has seen double-digit targets in two of the four games they've played and he's coming off a fantastic 10-catch performance last week. Dallas ranks sixth in DVOA against the tight end, but they've also allowed the 11th-most fantasy points per game to them. Once Micah Parsons commits to the pass-rush, Higbee will be left in one-on-one with a smaller safety and have a tremendous physical advantage.

Sure, Derwin James is quality and everyone loves that body slam of Travis Kelce, but the Chargers are allowing the second-most fantasy points per game to the tight end and we expect Cleveland to be throwing. Njoku had a strong game last week and now has back-to-back great games with a total of 14 catches for 162 yards and a touchdown. I preached Njoku all throughout the preseason and told you he is and will be the No. 2 guy in the targets pecking order for Cleveland. Now that we're seeing it, we have to take advantage while his price is down. It won't be for very long.

So long as he is healthy, with Jahan Dotson out, Thomas should be in a great spot for targets this week. The Titans haven't allowed a whole lot of fantasy points to the tight end, but they do rank dead-last in DVOA against the position. They're allowing an average of 72 yards to the opposing tight ends and Washington usually likes to stick with the one guy as opposed to rotating more in. If the Titans start off well with Derrick Henry, it will push the Commanders into catch-up mode and force the pass. Once that happens, the targets should fall very easily to Thomas in this match-up.

The Bills are the top defense on the board and even if Jordan Poyer and Ed Oliver are out (Oliver is questionable but might play), you have to love them against a rookie quarterback who plays behind a suspect defensive line and may not even have his No. 1 receiver available. The Bills have 13 sacks on the season and nine takeaways this far. Given some of the struggles we saw Kenny Pickett have last week against the Jets, paying up for the Bills might be too tough to pass up.

The focus is obviously on Tom Brady and the Bucs offense right now, but Atlanta is without both Cordarrelle Patterson and Kyle Pitts this week, so it could be a rough day for Marcus Mariota and the Falcons. The Buccaneers defense has 14 sacks on the season and nine takeaways, so expect them to be as strong and opportunistic as ever against their division rivals.

DSTSan Francisco 49ersSF @ CAR Sun 4:0538004400

The 49ers rank fourth against the pass and first against the run according to DVOA and now they get Baker Mayfield? Come on! Baker Mayfield might not be turning the ball over (something Jon Impemba and I discussed on the DFS Podcast this week), but the 49ers have 15 sacks for 111 yards lost and six takeaways this season. Something's gotta give here on the turnover front and my sneaking suspicion is that Mayfield will be the one to crumble.

LATE ADD – Why have I not been looking at the Vikings all week long? I'm sitting here building lineups and seeing room for the Vikings, so I jumped a little deeper into it. The Vikings may have just nine sacks on the season, but they have six takeaways to the seven giveaways by Chicago. The Bears offense is a little stuck in the mud right now and while they may be getting David Montgomery back, is that going to help Justin Fields' struggles? I don't think so. I'll happily use this defense at home against a team like the Bears.

This is either a criminally underpriced defense on Draft Kings or the biggest trap in the world. Now, full disclosure, as I said on Friday's Fantasy Alarm Show on SiriusXM – I think the Rams win this game and cover the 5.5-point spread, so I lean towards the trap even though the Cowboys defense has been one of the best in the league so far. But even if Dallas does take the loss and the Rams cover, we could still earn enough points on sacks and turnovers to pay off this insane price. What are you doing to us, DK? What?

DSTWashington CommandersTEN @ WAS Sun 1:0027003200

This is my dart-throw pay-down defense this week and it has much more to do with the ineptitude of the Tennessee offense than anything else. I figure the Titans will run heavy so turnovers may not be abundant, but as bad as the Commanders have looked over the past two games, this point spread doesn't favor the Titans by too much and something tells me they could even eke out a victory. The pass rush has been average at best and they aren't exactly winning the turnover battle, but if you need to pay all the way down, this might be where I want to go.

Weather: Mostly cloudy skies with temps in the low 50's. Moderate winds at about 15mph.

What?

This is my dart-throw pay-down defense this week and it has much more to do with the ineptitude of the Tennessee offense than anything else. I figure the Titans will run heavy so turnovers may not be abundant, but as bad as the Commanders have looked over the past two games, this point spread doesn't favor the Titans by too much and something tells me they could even eke out a victory. The pass rush has been average at best and they aren't exactly winning the turnover battle, but if you need to pay all the way down, this might be where I want to go.
