Welcome to the weekly wide receiver/cornerback breakdown! We will review each of the outside matchups, as well as my 10 favorite matchups in the slot. Then, below the charts in this article, I break down my four absolute favorite matchups. This article is critical for seasonal and daily players, as this will help you gain a competitive advantage when setting your lineups. Week 1 brought a lot of good information on what we can expect in the future, so let’s dig right in!

Left WRRight CBAnalysis
Christian Kirk ARIAnthony Averett BALThis was not the way that Kirk wanted to begin the year. The good news is that he was the second most targeted receiver on the team with 12. The bad news is that only translated to four catches and 32 yards. He gets a bit of a break with Jimmy Smith missing time for Baltimore, but their secondary in general is just very good. Kirk doesn't appear to be a good play this week either.
Julio Jones ATLRonald Darby PHIAs you were warned here last week, it wasn't a typical Julio Jones game as he only had six catches for 31 yards, but did have a touchdown to kind of salvage the day. The feeling this week is quite different as he should be looking at a good day. Ronald Darby isn't a bad corner, but he was torched last week against the lowly Redskins, dropped an interception, and had an all around subpar day. If he doesn't improve this could be an eight catch, 100+ yard game for Jones.
Marquise Brown BALTramaine Brock ARIOne of the best debuts in the history of the NFL, Brown left the Miami secondary in his rear view with four catches for 147 yards and two scores. His touchdowns were of 47 yards and 83 yards. In a group of receivers without a lead man, Brown just claimed that role. Brock might have dropped an interception that could have won the game for the Cardinals, but other than that moment had a pretty solid game. It will be very enticing to play Brown this week, and you should, but just don't expect fireworks again.
John Brown BUFJanoris Jenkins NYGBrown showed that he is a capable of leading the Bills in every receiving category this year after his seven catch, 123 yard game with a touchdown. He was targeted ten times by Josh Allen and the two clearly have a chemistry. This bro party might be held a bit more in check this week with Jackrabbit Jenkins on the other side of the field. He may get burned from time to time, but overall Jenkins is still one of the best out there.
D.J. Moore CARCarlton Davis TBMoore came out of the gate strong with seven catches on ten targets for 76 yards, even though he failed to score. He should put that first tally in the touchdown column this week against Davis and the Bucs. The Tampa secondary didn't give up a ton last week to the 49ers, but it was one of the sloppiest games you could see on both sides. The Carolina offense should be more efficient than San Francisco's was, and this could be a great week to look towards D.J. Moore in DFS games.
Allen Robinson CHIChris Harris DENAllen Robinson was one of the only good things that came out of that uglier opener on Thursday night. His seven catches for 102 yards led both teams receivers in both catches and yards. I want to believe that this is Robinson's bounce back year after a couple of rough ones, but I'm just not ready to do it yet. Chris Harris is a very tough corner to burn, and with the Bronco pass rush likely to bother Trubisky, he will be hard pressed to replicate last week's success. I'll pass on A-Rob this week.
John Ross CINRichard Sherman SFWhew, was I dead wrong on Ross last week. Although show me the first person that saw that breakout game coming. It was great to see the former top ten pick targeted 12 times for 158 yards and two scores and with A.J. Green out for a while longer, this could be the breakout that the Bengals have hoped for. He could have another good game on Sunday against the 49ers. Richard Sherman has had a storied career, but he certainly has lost a step due to injuries, and he may have a hard time staying with a 23 year old receiver that can run like the wind.
Odell Beckham Jr CLETrumaine Johnson NYJThis one could be the massive outing I expected from Beckham last week. He was still quite good with seven catches for 71 yards, but the Titans defense kept the Browns offense out of sync all day. This week Beckham should see a lot of Trumaine Johnson who made John Brown of Buffalo look like Randy Moss. If Beckham doesn't go over 100 yards this week I will eat my hat. He looks like he is an elite option worth paying up for in DFS games.
Amari Cooper DALJosh Norman WASCooper didn't waste any time in 2019 reminding us how good he was when he came over from the Raiders as he had six catches for 106 yards and a score. Even better for Cooper was the breakout game of Michael Gallup . If the Cowboys have a legitimate second receiver and defenses have to deal with the running game as well they won't be able to pay Cooper as much attention as he needs. Norman is a quality corner who could keep Cooper in check, but right now he's so hot it burns just to look at him.
Courtland Sutton DENKyle Fuller CHIWelcome to the Show Courtland Sutton ! The second year man made his presence known with a monster game on Monday night, even if he didn't score. It will get a lot tougher this week against a Bears secondary that made Aaron Rodgers look average most of Thursday night. This should be a successful season for Sutton, but look in another direction this week.
Marvin Jones DETCasey Hayward LACJones role on this team is fading, and if you don't believe me explain why he was fourth on the team in targets with just four. Lucky for his stat line he caught all four of them. The potential emergence of T.J. Hockenson only takes more targets away from Jones. Facing Casey Hayward on Sunday makes it even worse. There must be better options than him in Week 2.
Davante Adams GBXavier Rhodes MINThe Packers offense was really out of sorts for most of Thursday's game, and only performed in small doses.  None of those doses really came to Adams as he had just four catches for 36 yards. It doesn't get any easier this week against Xavier Rhodes , who kept Julio Jones in check on Sunday. I think that Adams will still have a five or six catch game, but it won't be a huge one.
DeAndre Hopkins HOUJalen Ramsey JAXHopkins is matchup proof, and even against one of, if not the best corner in football he is still going to have a good game. This might be one of Hopkins worst of the season and I probably wouldn't pay up for him in DFS, but he is an absolute start in redraft leagues. A bad game for Hopkins is still probably six catches for 75 yards.
T.Y. Hilton INDMalcolm Butler TENThe Colts offense looked better than expected last week against the Chargers, and Hilton had eight catches for 87 yards with two touchdowns. That is half of the touchdown catches that he had in all of 2017 when Jacoby Brissett was quarterback. The Titans made Baker Mayfield look like a bum last week, and likely will keep Hilton in check in Week 2. My outlook for Hilton season long is better than it was a week ago, but the Titans secondary looks for real.
D.J. Chark JAXJonathan Joseph HOUI said last week with his speed that Chark could be a problem for defenses, but never imagined a game like that. Four catches, 146 yards, and a touchdown later and Chark has the attention of all of the fantasy football world's attention. He clearly is going to get more attention from the defense in the coming weeks, but Chark is a must add on the waiver wire. Joseph had a rough go last week, and while Chark won't go off like crazy again this week, he is a solid play and a bargain in DFS.
Sammy Watkins KCTrayvon Mullen OAKWatkins had the game of a lifetime on Sunday with nine catches for 198 yards and three touchdowns. With Tyreek Hill now injured, that makes Watkins the top receiver on the best passing offense in football. While Hill is injured you have to keep Watkins in your lineup, although his DFS price went way up
Brandin Cooks LARMarcus Lattimore NOCooks was the one Rams receiver who didn't show up on Sunday, but it rarely happens that way twice. However, he is likely going to be looking at Marcus Lattimore across the field on Sunday, which could be trouble. Lattimore did struggle with DeAndre Hopkins last week, but Cooks is not in that class. You can play Cooks in your redraft leagues with caution, and fade him in DFS games.
Mike Williams LACDarius Slay DETWilliams is a serious question mark for this week's game with a knee injury, and even if he plays he won't be a good option with Darius Slay on the other side of the field from him. If he is forced to miss the game the Chargers should turn to Dontrelle Inman , who is a decent receiver, but not worth fantasy consideration.
DeVante Parker MIAStephon Gilmore NEThe Dolphins were even more pathetic than expected, although Parker actually had a good game with three catches for 75 yards. They say even a broken clock is right twice a day, so every once in a while Parker will have a good game. Even though they will get blown out again this week, don't trust Parker to do it again.
Stefon Diggs MINKevin King GBIt is hard for Diggs to have a quality fantasy game when the team only throws the ball ten times. While we knew that the Vikings wanted to run more, that was ridiculous. They definitely should throw more this week than in Week 1, but the Packers defense is solid. Diggs is always a start in redraft leagues, but you should look for a better value in DFS.
Josh Gordon NEXavien Howard MIANow that the Patriots have added Antonio Brown that will be even more options that the defense will have to think about, and less attention that Gordon will get. Of course, that also could mean that Gordon will get more targets. This isn't a good week to start Gordon despite his good game as you have to figure out how the targets will be spread out. And as bad as the Dolphins are, Xavien Howard is still a solid corner.
Michael Thomas NOAqib Talib LARYou can't stop Michael Thomas , you can't even hope to contain him. He had ten catches for 123 yards on Monday night, and quite honestly even against a tough Rams defense and Aqib, you can't be surprised if he does it again. The Rams defense is physical, but so is Thomas. He should have another great game on Sunday
Sterling Shepard NYGTre'Davious White BUFShepard is dealing with concussion symptoms and could be held out of this one. Even if he does play you should definitely stay away from him. The Bills defense is legit, and the Giants offense revolves around the running back and the tight end. Shepard could have three or four catches if he plays, but nothing that resembles a big fantasy game.
Robby Anderson NYJDenzel Ward CLEAnderson mustered just three catches on seven targets for a mere 23 yards. The schedule makers didn't do the Jets passing game any favors as they now face the Browns. Robby Anderson should be blanketed by Denzel Ward most of the day, and that does not equal fantasy production. Anderson is a possible flex play for his upside ability, but not someone to consider in DFS.
Tyrell Williams OAKKendall Fuller KCWith Antonio Brown out of town, someone had to step up for the Raiders, and it was Williams. Always a low volume target receiver, he made the most of his new chance on his new team with six catches for 105 yards and a score. The Raiders are going to get annhiliated by the Chiefs which should be great garbage time production. I like Williams as a tournament play in DFS this week.
Alshon Jeffery PHIDesmond Trufant ATLJeffery is a very touchdown dependent receiver, and without that touchddown he scored in Week 1 it would have been a disappointing day. He should find it easier going this week against the Falcons, and very easily could have 80-100 yards.
JuJu Smith-Schuster PITTre Flowers SEASmith-Schuster is dealing with a toe injury, but is fully expected to play this weekend. He had a subpar game by his standards with six catches for 78 yards. Juju will be better this week, as the Seahawks allowed Andy Dalton to throw for 418 yards. What do you think Big Ben will do? Smith-Schuster should be over 100 yards and could ahve multiple touchdowns. He is a great DFS play this week.
Dante Pettis SFDre Kirkpatrick CINPettis was installed as one of the 49ers starting receivers, but only saw one target in Week 1. The whole offense played a sloppy game, and Jimmy Garoppolo wasn't really on his game, but the red flags are all over the place on Pettis. He is very hard to trust in Week 2.
Tyler Lockett SEAJoe Haden PITLockett was supposed to be a target machine this year for the Seahawks, but it certainly didn't play out that way as he had just one catch. Of course he made it count with a 44 yard touchdown, but the fact he had just two targets is concerning. He could get a pass if Joe Haden doesn't play and the Steelers have to start Mike Hilton . It is baffling that Lockett was used so sporadically and you have to figure that Russell Wilson will look his way more this Sunday.
Mike Evans TBJames Bradberry CAREvans was one of the bigger disappointments in Week 1, as the 49ers pass rush kept Jameis Winston under pressure all day and he couldn't make good decisions. Carolina certainly didn't give up big plays to the high powered Rams in the first game, and Evans could possibly struggle again.
Corey Davis TENKenny Moore II INDDavis didn't have a single catch on Sunday against the Browns, which normally wouldn't be surprising except for the fact that Marcus Mariota threw for 248 yards. He was targeted three times, but that was fourth most on the team. Rookie A.J. Brown was the one who had the big game, and Davis is really hard to trust right now in DFS or redraft.
Terry McLaurin WASChidobe Awuzie DALMcLaurin showed off his speed and his hands in his NFL debut as he burned the Eagles secondary all afternoon to the tune of 125 yards and a touchdown. Case Keenum showed some ability to throw the deep pass, although I don't have confidence that he will continue to do it consistently. McLaurin becomes a guy that you absolutely start in redraft, but I don't know if he can repeat this performance enough to be worth it in DFS leagues.
Right WRLeft CBAnalysis
KeeSean Johnson ARIMarlon Humphrey BALJohnson didn't quite have the game I thought he might, but the rookie's debut of five catches for 46 yards wasn't awful. I still believe he will become a little bit bigger part of the offense each week. Marlon Humphrey is not 100 percent healthy, which could give Johnson a little more of a jump on him. However, Baltimore's defense could force Arizona to struggle this week, and I wouldn't start Johnson in any format.
Calvin Ridley ATLSidney Jones PHIRidley had a solid opening week with four catches for 64 yards and his first touchdown of the year. It seems like this guy scores almost every week. The Falcons should have a little easier time throwing the ball this week, and Matt Ryan should have another 300 yard game. I expect Ridley to have 80-90 yards and another potential touchdown, as the Eagles made Case Keenum look really good for three quarters last week.
Miles Boykin BALByron Murphy ARIBoykin did have a touchdown, but it was his only catch of the game, and even though Lamar Jackson threw for over 300 yards, he still only threw the ball 20 times in the game. If he is going to continue to have that few of pass attempts there likely won't be enough production to go around with Marquise Brown , Mark Andrews , and Willie Snead getting some looks. Boykin is a talented guy, but this isn't a great situation right now.
Zay Jones BUFDeandre Baker NYGZay didn't get off to a very good start with just two catches for 18 yards, but his chance for redemption comes this week against the Giants. New York's defense looked absolutely atrocious last week and allowed multiple receivers to have over 100 yards. There's almost no way Jones gets that much production on Sunday, but if he doesn't have at least 60 yards, he will be hard to trust going forward.
Curtis Samuel CARVernon Hargreaves TBSamuel didn't get the great number of targets that I hoped for, but I underestimated exactly how dependent the entire offense is on Christian McCaffrey . Better days are ahead for Samuel, and it could be this week against a Buccaneers secondary that isn't very good. They looked pretty good last week against the Niners, but I'm more inclined to chalk that up to poor play by San Francisco than giving the defense credit. Samuel should at least pull down six receptions, which makes him an option in PPR leagues.
Taylor Gabriel CHIIsaac Yiadom DENThe whole Bears passing game was just awful last Thursday, and Gabriel isn't involved enough to warrant fantasy consideration without an injury to Allen Robinson . Combine that with good play from the Bronco defense and this is one to forget.
Damion Willis CINAhkello Witherspoon SFWillis did have a few catches, but he is not a fantasy worthy player. If the 49ers can keep putting pressure on the quarterback like they did last week, Andy Dalton will struggle. Even in the deepest leagues, you don't need to consider Willis.
Rashard Higgins CLEBrian Poole NYJHiggins only got three targets, but he did make the most out of them with 46 yards. He isn't worth fantasy consideration at the moment, but I continue to track him. The Browns passing game was all out of sorts on Sunday and it will be interesting to see how he fares on a good offensive day for Cleveland. The Jets defense should provide that experiment. Don't use or add Higgins, but I am very interested to see his stats this week.
Michael Gallup DALQuinton Dunbar WASPerhaps no player propelled their fantasy value upwards more in one week than Gallup. He led the team with 158 yards, and he is set up for future success on a highly talented Cowboys offense. Now, of course, this was against a terrible defense with the Giants, but it doesn't get too tough this week against the Redskins and Dunbar who isn't 100%. Gallup could be looking at back to back big games here.
DaeSean Hamilton DENPrince Amukamara CHIAs expected, Hamilton didn't do much on Monday night with just two catches for five yards. He was targeted just four times, the same as rookie tight end Noah Fant. Barring an injury to Emmanuel Sanders , Hamilton won't provide much production on a week to week basis. A match against the Bears makes it even more trouble, even though they gave up a bunch of yards to Marquez Valdes-Scantling of the Packers on Thursday. Hamilton is a no go for Week 2
Kenny Golladay DETMichael Davis LACGolladay didn't have a great game with just four catches for 42 yards, but he did score a touchdown to keep his fantasy owners happy. The low catch total is a red flag, but he was targeted nine times, so at least Stafford was looking his way. The Chargers defense let Jacoby Brissett have a solid game, so Golladay should increase his output by a decent margin. He is still likely a fade in DFS, but he should provide you redraft players with a 15 fantasy point afternoon.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling GBTrae Waynes MINValdes-Scantling was the only thing on the Packers offense that you could even consider labeling as having a good game with four catches for 52 yards. His ability to get down the field and get open gave me much hope for the future. The Vikings are a very strong defense and good secondary, so Valdes-Scantling is likely looking at another 50-70 yard game, but he will have some big ones this season.
Will Fuller HOUA.J. Bouye JAXFuller had just two catches, but as usual one was a long one and he finished with 69 yards on just two catches. This week is going to be a very difficult one for him going against the Jaguars elite secondary. Yes, Jacksonville got scored on a bunch last week, but that was Kansas City. Fuller won't get totally shut out, but they will certainly game plan for his speed, and if needed Bouye could get some help. I would avoid Fuller this week if possible.
Deon Cain INDKenny Vaccaro TENWith Devin Funchess breaking his collarbone, the Colts need someone to step up and that could be Cain. He had just two catches for 35 yards, and doesn’t bring a lot of excitement. Cain did have a strong preseason, but a lot of the time he was playing against second team defenses. The Titans secondary should be able to keep him in check in Week 2 easily.
Chris Conley JAXBradley Roby HOUYou would think with quarterback Gardner Minshew that the Jaguars offense would go down the tubes, but in fact it got better. Conley had a career game with six catches for 97 yards and a touchdown. He will continue to start opposite D.J. Chark , and with his breakout game the defense will have to spread itself thin to cover everyone. Conley is looking like he is in for a strong year. His DFS price tag is criminally low, and is someone you can take to help you pay up for other elite players.
Mecole Hardman KCDaryl Worley OAKThe injury to Tyreek Hill opens the door for the rookie to get his chance to show what he can do. Hardman has speed on speed on speed, and gets a great opening matchup against the Raiders defense, who was respectable Monday night but still isn't any good. Hardman will be a risky play this week, but if he hits it could be in a huge way. If you are the type who like to swing for the fences, this one could be your bet.
Robert Woods LAREli Apple NOThe beat just keeps going on for Woods as he had another strong game on Sunday with eight catches for 70 yards. You can count on death, taxes, and Robert Woods having five catches or more. This game with the Saints should be a high scoring affair with lots of passes, so Woods is a dynamite play again this week, and he should surpass last week's numbers. He is not only a good play in redraft, but in DFS GPPs as well.
Travis Benjamin LACRashaan Melvin DETBenjamin really just isn't fantasy relevant anymore. He may have a good game or two during the season which will get people excited because they know his name, but he really isn't great. If Mike Williams is force to miss this game it will bump his value some, but he still isn't someone to monitor.
Preston Williams MIAJason McCourty NE The Dolphins are going to be behind in basically every game this year and will have to throw the ball a ton. That might not always lead to production, but some games it will Preston Williams did have a touchdown, although his overall stat line was unimpressive. He is someone to monitor to see if he is consistently involved in the offense going forward.
Chad Beebe MINJaire Alexander GBThere will have to be an injury to one of the top two receivers for you to even think about the fantasy relevance of Chad Beebe again, against any defense.
Antonio Brown NEMinkah Fitzpatrick MIAWith the latest allegations against Antonio Brown it isn't a guarantee that he will suit up for the Patriots this weekend. However, if he does you should definitely get him in your lineups as this looks like a game where he will want to prove that dealing with all of his nonsense is worth it for New England. Plus the Dolphins are awful and the Patriots should run the score up on them as well.
Ted Ginn NOMarcus Peters LARUsually a low volume target receiver, Ginn was looked at seven times and caught them all for 101 yards. He won't always be that efficient, in fact Week 1 will likely be one of the best of his season. The Rams secondary is very strong and Ginn will have to score a touchdown this week to have a worthwhile week. He may get one as both teams are likely to throw the ball 40 times, so he is a moderately trustworthy pick for Week 2.
Cody Latimer NYGLevi Wallace BUFIf Sterling Shepard misses this game, that would make Latimer the numberone receiver on the Giants. That might not be the most impressive place to be in football, but it will have some value. Latimer was actually targeted one more time than Shepard last week and finished with three catches for 74 yards. The Bills defense is physical and tough and the Giants likely won't score many points. Starting Latimer would be a very big roll of the dice, with Shepard or without, but he is a low level name receiver that I like
Demaryius Thomas NYJGreedy Williams CLEThomas comes over to the Jets after it was announced that Quincy Enunwa would miss the season. Thomas does have a little history with Adam Gase when the two were in Denver, but this guy doesn't have much left in the tank. Sure, he had a two touchdown game in the preseason, but it was the fourth preseason game when starters weren't in there and it was against the Giants who have an awful defense anyway. Don't get tricked by name value here, Thomas won't have much value.
Ryan Grant OAKBashaud Breeland KCGrant is no one that you need to concern yourself with. He likely is the second receiver on the Raiders, and they will have to throw most of the second half. Grant might come up with a few catches this week just because the Raiders are spread thin at receiver, but he doesn't deserve consideration even for a roster spot.
DeSean Jackson PHIIsaiah Oliver ATLJackson blew up in a huge way in Week 1, and looks to be ready to have a strong season. The Falcons defense wasn't really tested last week as the Vikings only threw ten times, but the unit on the whole isn't great. Jackson might not put up 154 yards and two touchdowns again, but I think his floor is 80 yards and a score. He will be a strong play again.
Donte Moncrief PITShaquill Griffin SEAThe Steelers never got on the same page on offense and managed just a field goal all game. Moncrief was awful with three catches for seven yards, but the encouraging part was he was targeted ten times. He will have to be much better this week or he won't continue to see consistent targets, so this is a big week for him. There's no way you could consider starting him, but if he is on your team and struggles again, you can consider ditching him.
Marquise Goodwin SFWilliam Jackson III CINGoodwin is totally reliant on scoring touchdowns and he just didn't do that or much of anything on Sunday. He had just one catch for seven yards, and was only targeted three times. Will  this be the week he gets behind the defense and scores? Your guess is as good as mine. The Bengals defense isn't strong, but I don't feel confident enough to use Goodwin in redraft or DFS games.
D.K. Metcalf SEASteven Nelson PITMetcalf was impressive in his debut game, and was targeted more than anyone other than Chris Carson . His four catches for 89 yards solidified his place on the fantasy map, and becomes someone you can trust at least as of now. The Steelers defense is better than it showed last week, but Metcalf should be more than serviceable again.
Breshad Perriman TBDonte Jackson CARPerriman was targeted five times last Sunday, but that was only good for two catches and ten yards. He is the fifth or sixth option to throw to on any given play, and isn't worth fantasy consideration even against lesser opponents. You can certainly find a better option.
A.J. Brown, TENPierre Desir INDThe rookie had an impressive debut with 100 yards in the contest, as the rest of the Browns secondary not named Denzel Ward struggled badly. I have a hard time believing that Marcus Mariota will be that good again, but if he is, Brown could shine again. The Colts secondary is a good one, so Brown makes for a very risky play, but he does now belong on all fantasy rosters.
Paul Richardson WASByron Jones DALOn a day where Case Keenum threw for 380 yards, Ricahrdson only had 36 of them. Case Keenum isn't going to throw for 380 yards many more times in his career, so the fact that Richardson was such a small part of the offense is concerning. Washington certainly is going to spread it around to all of their options, so figuring out when Richardson will be successful will be tough. It won't be this week against Dallas, I am pretty sure about that.

Now, here are my 10 favorite matchups in the slot in Week 15.

Slot WRSlot CBAnalysis
Chris Godwin TBJavien Elliott CARIt wasn't a high volume reception game that you would expect from a guy in the slot against a poor defense, but Godwin delivered a touchdown and a 14 fantasy point game in PPR leagues. The Panthers allowed seven receptions to the Rams slot receiver Cooper Kupp , and Godwin should see more opportunity in Week 2. Get him in your lineups.
Randall Cobb DALDominique Rodgers-Cromartie WASThe Cowboys came out passing, and man did they look good. Ezekiel Elliott should be slightly limited again after holding out all preseason, and Dak Prescott should throw a lot again. This should mean more chances for Cobb to build on his 69 yard and a touchdown output from Week 1. He might not be relevant every game this season, but the Cowboys should whack Washington
Tyler Boyd CINK'Waun Williams SFBoyd did his share in the attempt to beat Seattle with eight catches for 60 yards, and now he gets a much lesser defense in San Francisco. The Niners didn't let Chris Godwin run wild on them, but they won't get lucky twice. Boyd should definitely score his first touchdown and likely break 100 yards.
Jarvis Landry CLEDarryl Roberts NYJIt wasn't a great game for the Browns offense as a whole, but they should have a make good game against the Jets. Landry was only targeted seven times, and I expect that to be double digits this week. Baker Mayfield will make up for last week's debacle, and Landry will have a very solid outing.
Jamison Crowder NYJT.J. Carrie CLEI don't know if Sam Darnold could have thrown to Jamison Crowder more if he tried! No one in the NFL was targeted more in Week 1 than Crowder's 17, and while that number isn't likely to be repeated, he is clearly the safety net for Darnold. Crowder will likely push double digit receptions again, and although they are mostly short passes, in PPR leagues Crowder will hold his value.
Dede Westbrook JAXLonnie Johnson HOUWestbrook disappointed in Week 1 as the offense was far more vertical than expected, especially with a backup rookie quarterback. He had five catches for just 30 yards, and both of those numbers should go up this week against a Texans defense that looked vulnerable. I wouldn't use him in DFS games, but feel safe putting Westbrook in your redraft lineups.
Keenan Allen SDRashaan Melvin DETAllen was amazing as to be expected with eight catches for 123 yards and a touchdown. If it is possible his role could grow even a little more with the injury to Hunter Henry , and with the possible absence of Mike Williams . Allen is one of the best plays on the board this week in any and every format.
Cooper Kupp LARP.J. Williams NOKupp didn't have a monster game last week, but that won't stop me from using him every week. The Saints defense gave up a lot of yards last week, and they are going to do it again this week against the Rams. The slot corner wasn't really tested against Houston, but Kupp will run you all over the field and should have at least seven catches.
Adam Thielen MINTramon Williams GBThe Vikings will need to throw more for Thielen to be hugely successful, but even in a game where they threw the ball ten times he still scored. There is almost no corner that can stop Thielen, especially not a slot corner. He is an every week start in redraft, although this doesn't feel like a good week to use him in DFS.
Julian Edelman NEEric Rowe MIAThe Patriots killed the Steelers and they are going to completely maul the Dolphins. Edelman will continue to get his 8-14 targets per game and turn them into a nice stat line on a weekly basis. He is moderately priced in DFS this week, and while they will get up big on Miami early, when have you ever known the Patriots to stop trying to score. Look Edelman's way this week.

Elite

Keenan Allen vs. Rashaan Melvin

The Lions have one good corner on their team in Darius Slay and then the rest is hot garbage. Detroit allowed Arizona’s slot king Larry Fitzgerald to have a big game with eight catches for 113 yards and a score. Allen could even top that as even more targets should go his way with the loss of Hunter Henry , and the possible loss of Mike Williams . This one has monster game for Allen written all over it.

Affordable

Michael Gallup vs. Quinton Dunbar

Gallup let the whole NFL know he arrived last week with his eye popping seven catches and 158 yards. Sure it was against a terrible Giants defense, but it isn’t like he’s facing the Bears this week either. I picked on Quinton Dunbar last week with DeSean Jackson and that paid off handsomely so why not go back to the well? Amari Cooper gets all of the attention which leaves a lot of single coverage on Gallup which he showed he can beat regularly. We could be watching a star be born right before our eyes. Let it pay off for you.

Tyrell Williams vs. Kendall Fuller

One of the most pleasant surprises of Week 1 was the Raiders offense, at least for the first half. Williams showed an ability to get open even against a good defense, and he wasn’t just a deep ball threat like he was used with the Chargers. Antonio Brown is out of town, and Williams will be the number one guy for Oakland. Kendall Fuller and the Chiefs secondary have a tough job because their offense builds big leads and the opposing team has to throw so much. That will be the case this week again versus the Raiders and Tyrell Williams should turn garbage time into payday!

Bargain Bin

Chris Conley vs. Bradley Roby

I think I’m coming down with something I should get it checked out.  That’s right, it’s called Minshew-mania baby! The Jags sixth round rookie lit the Chiefs up after coming in for the injured Nick Foles . Ok, lit them up might be a bit of a stretch, but the kid was throwing dimes left and right. He had a nice connection with Chris Conley , who had a career day. The Texans secondary looked quite beatable on Monday night, and while it could be in an attempt to try to stay in the game, the Jags should throw a lot again. Look for both Chark and Conley to do work.
