Cardinals
Drake finally had the monster game fantasy owners were hoping for and no surprise it came against the Dallas Cowboys and their lackluster defense. The big boom for Drake came at the end of the game when he broke off a 69 yard run for his second touchdown of the game. While Drake hasn't popped this year, the one thing that has been consistent has been his carry volume as he dominates those touches while Edmonds finds himself used in the passing attack. Drake will look to build upon this momentum in Week 7 with a favorable match up against the Seahawks however if this one turns into a shootout then Edmonds may find his own success.
Falcons
Fantasy owners certainly hoped to get more out of Gurley in this match up against the Vikings but he struggled, managing just 47 yards on 20 carries. On the brightside however, it was good to see Gurley see 20 carries as it was just the second time this season he has hit the 20 plateau. Those who roster Gurley should have little worry regarding his role and though Brian Hill saw 26-percent of the snaps in this one, he remains nothing more than a handcuff.
Ravens
Mark Ingram was injured in this one and his status for Week 8 will remain in question until the Ravens return from their bye week but in his absence we got some clarity on how the Ravens backfield will play out right??? Nope, we got a 50/50 split in snaps between Edwards and Dobbins with Edwards seeing the early down work and Dobbins acting as the change of pace and pass catching option. Those who drafted Dobbins have to be hoping he comes out of the bye week with a bigger role if Ingram is going to miss extended time.
Bills
Moss made his return to the lineup and was outsnapped, seeing just 25-percent of the carries. Neither back looked great in this game against the Chiefs and Singletary also struggled the week before against the Titans. The Bills face the recently dubbed "Slump Busters" in Week 7 with the New York Jets letting all teams put up big offensive performances. Should the Bills take a quick lead we should see both backs get their work in here.
Panthers
Word out of Carolina is that Christian McCaffrey could be out for at least the next two weeks which means Mike Davis will continue to dominate the touches. Fantasy owners were likely disappointed to see him get just three targets in this game but the five red zone carries are certainly a nice way to keep his fantasy value surging.
Bears
Not a typo here, Monty was the only back getting touches as he played 85-percent of the snaps against the Panthers in Week 7. Fantasy owners have to love not just the seven red zone carries but he continues to be used in the teams passing offense. Those drafted Montgomery are finally getting the value they had hoped for.
Bengals
Mixon owners likely cried when Bernard poached an early touchdown but Mixon was able to find the box on his own in this one as well while seeing another 18 carries. The trouble here is that he injured his foot in this game and while he was able to return, his status for Week 7 is now in jeopardy. Bernard was a must add this week off the waiver wire and we have seen him be effective when needed to step up but he is NOT Joe Mixon .
Browns
The game script was never really there for the Browns to make Hunt a succesfull fantasy play. It also doesn't help that the Steelers have a very strong defense, especially when playing at home. Though this was a down performance, it is still pretty telling that Hunt dominates the snaps and there is no threat to his job as long as Nick Chubb is on IR. A better match up is ahead with the Browns facing the Bengals in Week 7.
Cowboys
Elliott owners were likely cringing with his two fumbles against the Cardinals on Monday but he saw another high volume of targets with 10. This is the fourth game this seson in which Elliott has seen at least seven targets in a game and his fourth game with at least six receptions. With Andy Dalton at quarterback we should expect this type of involvement in the passing game continue as Dalton should continue to check down to Elliott pretty regularly.
Broncos
Melvin Gordon did not play in this one due to an illness which opened the door for Lindsay to be the team's lead back and he took full advantage of it as he rushed for 101 yards. Gordon is likely back in Week 7 and now the question is how do the Broncos handle the snaps when both Lindsay and Gordon are healthy. Heading into the year we were lead to believe that this would be a fairly even time share so we will have to wait and see.
Lions
The Jaguars run defense is trash but with that said, it was still great to see D'Andre Swift finally have a monster breakout performance. Bless Adrian Peterson for everything he has done on the football field but if Matt Patricia has any idea what he is doing as a head football coach then in Week 7 we need to see Swift with at least 65-percent of the snaps against the Falcons. Your team invested a second-round pick on the kid. Let him play!
Packers
In DFS this week it's likely that Jones is going to be the highest owned back as the Packers face off against a bad Texans defense that just allowed 262 total yards to Derrick Henry in Week 6. The Packers offense struggled against a strong Buccaneers defense in Week 6 and therefore Jones did not do much but a bounceback game is definitely on the horizon.
Texans
Seven red zone carries was certainly nice to see from David Johnson and he even found the end zone with one of them. Duke Johnson is no threat to his touches but those who own David Johnson had likely hoped for more six weeks into the season.
Colts
The Colts find themselves trailing in this game by three touchdowns heading into the second quarter and the game was close until the end so the game script wasn't great for Taylor and his 12 carries kind of shows that. It was nice to see him get four targets by seeing as the Colts were throwing often it was Hines that saw a bigger role than usual.
Jaguars
Chris Thompson may get the occasional target but James Robinson's ability to be a three-down back keeps the job his with no competition. In Week 7 the Jaguars face a tough Chargers defense.
Chiefs
We got a career game by CEH in this one against the Bills but fantasy owners should not expect this to be the case going forward as Le'Veon Bell will be making his Chiefs debut soon and he will certainly demand a bigger piece of the pie than what Darrel Williams requires.
Rams
Why did Cam Akers only get one snap? Sean McVay said it was game script related but that explanation is just hard to fathom. What kind of game scrip does McVay need to put Akers on the field? We would all love to know!
Dolphins
Gaskins job was safe with Le'Veon Bell deciding to go to the Chiefs and he took that oppurtunity and had another strong game. The Dolphins are making a change at quarterback when they come out of their bye with rookie Tua Tagovailoa taking over. How will that impact Gaskins? I don't imagine it will change his value too much, if anything, maybe the team relies on the run a bit more.
Vikings
Mattison was a major bust this week after his impressive relief effort for the injured Dalvin Cook . The Vikings are on a bye this week and Cook is expected to be back when the team returns to play in Week 8.
Patriots
James White is the only running back you can trust in New England on a game-to-game basis. His role in the team's passing offense is something you can count on and we know Cam Newton likes to dump the ball off to the running back position. If you wanna try and predict who will have the bigger game between Harris and Burkhead please have fun with that.
Giants
The Giants have a good spot here against the Eagles on Thursday and it's clear that Freeman is the lead back here with no threat to his job. The Giants may actually have a lead in this game too which could lead to Freeman seeing a higher volume of touches.
Jets
It was good to see Perine lead the team in snaps but we still want nothing to do with this Jets offense. Seriously, just avoid it at all costs.
Eagles
Sanders went down with an injury in Week 6 that is going to cost him at the very least Week 7 and he could miss Week 8 as well. Boston Scott dominated the snaps after the injury but he has yet to put forth any sort of productive performance. The Eagles do face the Giants in Week 7 however so maybe he gets something going against their trash defense.
Steelers
Conner had a few scores vultured here in this one but gotta love his snap share and total carries. He is the clear lead back in this offense and in closer game we should have no worry about Snell or McFarland seeing this high of a snap count. The Steelers face off against the Titans in Week 7.
49ers
Mostert is landing on IR which means we can go back to McKinnon as the lead back here. Unlike last time Mostert was hurt, it looks like Hasty will be the handcuff and not Jeff Wilson. The 49ers face the Partiots in Week 7 who just allowed a 100-yard game to Phillip Lindsay in Week 6.
Buccaneers
THREE straight 100-yard games for Ronald Jones . Leonard Fournette is still dealing with an injury that kept him out of this one. Though LeSean McCoy returned and saw nearly 30-percent of the snaps, he is no threat to Jones here. Bruce Arians has said since day one that this is Ronald Jones ' backfield and so far that has been the case. The Buccaneers face a Raiders defense this week that is allowing the most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season.
Titans
I mean, the man had 262 total yards in Week 6. He ran for 212 yards and two touchdowns which included a 94-yard touchdown run. He is crazy good. The Titans have a tough match up against the Steelers in Week 7 but Henry is likely match up proof.
Washington
The Washington Football team gets the Dallas Cowboys this weekend which means they should be able to score some points. I like both McKissic and Gibson this week. McKissic has now seen at least six targets in three straight weeks.
