The Sunday slate for NFL Week 6 wraps up with an exciting matchup as Joe Borrow leads the Cincinnati Bengals into MetLife Stadium to take on Daniel Jones and the New York Giants. For us, it’s another opportunity to win some money with our NFL Best Bets for Sunday Night Football.

The Bengals are a disappointing 1-4 on the season and desperate for a win to get themselves back on-track for a playoff run while the rebuilding Giants are coming off a huge upset last week and are looking to carry that momentum into this game. Before we finalize our NFL picks, we’ll dive into some historical data and then set up our NFL predictions with a little look into potential game-flow. From there we’ll finalize our betting card with picks against the spread, game total and player props.

NFL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets for Sunday Night Football, 10/13

Given the interconference match-up, these teams haven’t faced each other in four years. Funny enough, the quarterbacks remain the same. It was Burrow’s rookie season and Jones was in his second year as the Giants starting quarterback. A lot of different supporting cast, but still, New York won, they did not cover the spread and the 19-17 score was nine points under the game total. Since 2001, the Bengals are 3-2 against the spread in games against the Giants.

This season, Cincinnati is 2-3 against the spread but they are 2-0 ATS on the road and 1-0 ATS as a road favorite. The Giants are 3-2 against the spread this season and 1-1 ATS at home. They were the underdog in both games. So, if you’re looking for a data advantage when making your NFL picks and finalizing your own NFL best bets for Sunday Night Football, you could say the Bengals have the slight edge as a 3.5-point favorite on the road here. Let’s see if the potential game flow and our NFL predictions match up.

Sunday Night Football Prediction: Sunday, October 13th

This match-up has some really interesting vibes to it and the 47-point game total is telling me there is some shootout potential. We’ve been talking about how bad the Bengals defense is, but they will have both Sheldon Rankins and B.J. Hill back in the middle of the defensive line which will not only help stifle the Giants ground game, but also help free up Trey Hendrickson and Sam Hubbard to focus on the pass-rush. Suddenly, this is a defense you don’t run on. You expose the shortcomings in the secondary instead

The Bengals rank 25th in DVOA against the pass, they allow an average of 214 passing yards per game and have coughed up 10 touchdowns through the air. Their only decent cover-corner is Cam Taylor-Britt right now and they may also be without Mike Hilton, so this is going to open up the Giants passing attack. Wan’Dale Robinson will handle the underneath work while Darius Slayton helps stretch the field. Malik Nabers has already been ruled out.

You can expect Brian Daboll to try and stablish the run, but Devin Singletary has been ruled out and the tandem of Tyrone Tracy and Eric Gray isn’t exactly an intimidating pair. I could see a heavy focus on the pass for the Giants and allow Jones to do a little more running on his own.

On the other side, Zac Taylor is notorious for using the pass to set up the run. He’ll have Joe Burrow slinging the rock to his receivers early and often against this Giants secondary that ranks 21st in DVOA against the pass. They just don’t have the horses to keep up with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. If the Bengals do have the lead in the second half, they’ll try to run heavy with Zack Moss and Chase Brown, but may struggle as the Giants front-seven is their strength.

Again, this is giving me some shootout vibes for my NFL predictions here. Not huge, but some. Both teams have a little desperation factor and both secondaries are mid. We’ll keep that in mind for our NFL picks and prop bets and see where we land for our NFL Best Bets for Sunday Night Football

Bengals vs. Giants Best Bet: Sunday, October 13th

For me, this basically lands on whether or not I believe the Giants have the offensive horses to keep up with the Bengals. We know the Bengals can score. That won’t be the issue. But we know that, while the Giants are definitely capable, they’re averaging fewer than 18 points per game this season. That’s just not enough, even if I give them a few points because of how I feel about the Bengals secondary.

  • Pick: Bengals -3.5 (-110 on BetMGM Sportsbook)

I’m right on the fence with this game total. It opened at 48 and dropped a point. I’ve seen it as low as 46.5 and as high as 49 in some places. The over is 4-1 in Bengals games this season and 1-4 in Giants games. Even if the Giants only put up 20 points, I could easily see the Bengals putting up 27 to give us the push. I feel good with this read.

  • Pick: Over 47 (-110 on BetMGM Sportsbook)

Best NFL Player Prop Bets & Other Picks Today, 10/6

  • Zack Moss under 42.5 rushing yards (-120 on BetMGM Sportsbook)
  • Ja'Marr Chase over 75.5 receiving yards (-115 on BetMGM Sportsbook)
  • Greg Joseph over 6.5 points (-105 on BetMGM Sportsbook)
