Raiders vs. Ravens Predictions For NFL Week 2, Sunday 9/15
Opening a season against the back-to-back defending champion Chiefs was always going to be a tall task, and the Ravens nearly answered the challenge. If not for TE Isaiah Likely having NFL-sized feet, his toe-tapping touchdown could have potentially won the game for Baltimore.
Regardless, they’re starting their 2024-25 campaign 0-1, just like the Raiders, who fell against a division rival in the Los Angeles Chargers. The most concerning aspect of that loss was the fact that LA was far from elite, yet they won by double digits. Keep that in mind we work towards the best bet from our Raiders vs. Ravens predictions.
Las Vegas Raiders: Rebounding From Week 1
Las Vegas bouncing back from Week 1 looks as though it will be a tough ask, as they may as well have rolled snake eyes. After a QB battle in the preseason, they gave Minshew Mania the nod over second-year signal caller Aiden O’Connell.
Fans around the league have become enamored with the Minshew ‘stache, and frankly, he wasn’t their downfall in Week 1, completing 25 of 33 passes. The true disappointment was RB Zamir White, who is expected to be one of the handful of true bellcows left in the league. Instead, he ran for just 44 yards on 13 carries.
That’s a scary prospect when facing a Ravens defense that held Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco to just 45 yards on 15 carries.
Baltimore Ravens: Utilizing The Rest Advantage
Not only did Baltimore look stout against the run in their season-opening game, but playing in that featured game presents a benefit - extra rest. They’ll be on a mini-bye week with 10 days off, which is concerning enough for the Raiders, especially with the Ravens coming off a loss.
Having a long week this early in the season should allow them to come out in Week 2 as if it is still a new season, which means fresh legs. That’s a significant benefit for a team that features RB Derrick Henry, who needs to be featured more than in Week 1. Similarly, that also means that the rest should allow star QB Lamar Jackson to be fully recovered from his 16 carries for 122 yards.
Raiders vs. Ravens Odds, Spreads, Total & Betting Lines
We used the Raiders vs. Ravens odds at DraftKings Sportsbook for the best bet from our Raiders vs. Ravens predictions coming up, and here are the lines for each of the standard markets:
- Point Spread: Las Vegas Raiders +8.5 (-110) vs. Baltimore Ravens -8.5 (-110)
- Money Line: Las Vegas Raiders (+330) vs. Baltimore Ravens (-425)
- Game Total (Over/Under): Over 41.5 (-115) vs. Under 41.5 (-105)
Raiders vs. Ravens Game Total: Baltimore -8.5 (-105 at DraftKings Sportsbook)
Seeing such a low total may cause a knee-jerk reaction to target that market when making your Raiders vs. Ravens picks. However, with Las Vegas scoring just 10 points in Week 1 and Baltimore putting up 20 themselves, it’s justified to be listed so low.
Instead, we’re going to do something we don’t often prefer to do - take a significant home favorite. These point spreads can often be inflated, but the Ravens out for vengeance to rectify their heart-breaking Week 1 loss is a situation that we’re willing to support. The fact that this game is at M&T Bank Stadium is also a huge factor.
Baltimore has always been a fantastic home team, and they won six of their home games last season. More importantly for our Raiders vs. Ravens predictions, they did so in a dominating fashion. Of those six wins, five came by scores of 25-9, 38-6, 37-3, 34-20 and 56-19. In other words, by 14 points at the very least.
We’d also suggest taking the Ravens as part of a survivor pool or their money line as part of a fun parlay. However, as long as this point spread stays under 10 points, we’re more than happy to back Baltimore on their home turf. So, the official best bet from our Raiders vs. Ravens predictions is Baltimore -8.5 (-110 at DraftKings Sportsbook).
