Andrew Kittredge (knee) played catch before Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays.
Kittredge underwent knee debridement surgery at the beginning of March. The right-hander will be a high-leverage option once healthy, but there’s no timetable for a return just yet.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone did not offer an update on Marcus Stroman’s knee Saturday.
Boone did say that Stroman was meeting with team doctors, but that was it. The right-hander was shelled before leaving with knee trouble Friday, and Boone was unsure if Stroman would need to head to the injured list. It seems unlikely that the 33-year-old will be able to make his next start, at the very least.
Lucas Giolito (hamstring) will start again Tuesday for Triple-A Worcester.
Giolito will make at least one more rehab start as he recovers from his hamstring strain. The 30-year-old threw 64 pitches in his last outing, and the team will likely want him to reach around 90 pitches before he joins the rotation.
Patrick Bailey is not in the starting lineup for Saturday against the Yankees.
Bailey also got Saturday off last week, so maybe this will be his day of rest for 2025. Sam Huff is catching and will hit eighth.
Albert Suarez (shoulder) will undergo further imaging before he resumes throwing.
The MRI won’t take place until a few weeks, but the Orioles want to make sure that his subscapularis strain has healed before they begin his rehab program. The 35-year-old remains without a timetable for return, but should have one after the imaging takes place.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reports the Celtics have converted two-way G JD Davison to a standard contract.
Davison was drafted 53rd overall in 2022 and has been with Boston his entire career, though he has spent most of his time with their G League affiliate in Maine. He has made 15 appearances in the NBA this season and will likely play a significant role in the regular season finale on Sunday. The 22-year-old will remain with the Celtics on a standard deal heading into next season, but he will likely spend most of his time in Maine once again.
