Jason Boris: Who He Is & Why He’s The Unrivaled King Of NFL Mock Drafts

If there’s one thing we know about the 2025 NFL Draft, it is to expect the unexpected. What we know and what we expect are far cries from what typically happens. Throughout all the efforts and prognostications by some of the greats like Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay, the only certainty we have is that everyone, and I mean everyone, will be wrong. It happens all the time.
Some may be more wrong than others, but in the world of NFL mock drafts, where speculation meets expertise, there is one name that stands head and shoulders above the rest: Jason Boris, who regularly provides the most accurate mock draft. If you’re looking to bet on the NFL Draft, Boris is the one upon whom you lean, and he will be giving an exclusive look to Fantasy Alarm subscribers.

Jason Boris: The Most Accurate NFL Mock Draft
In 2024, Boris solidified his reputation as the gold standard in draft prediction with another one of the most accurate mock drafts, earning the No. 1 overall ranking from The Huddle Report, widely regarded as the nation’s most respected mock draft grading service.
With an unprecedented score of 59 points—the highest in the report’s history since 2002—Boris correctly predicted 29 of the 32 first-round players and accurately matched 15 of them to the teams that drafted them. This remarkable feat underscores why Boris is not just a participant in the mock draft game but its undisputed master. His scores should speak for themselves.
The Huddle Report’s scoring system rewards both accuracy and precision, making Boris’ 2024 performance an historic benchmark. Predicting 29 of 32 players is a testament to his deep understanding of player talent, while matching 15 players to their drafting teams demonstrates an uncanny ability to anticipate team needs and strategies. This achievement wasn’t a fluke but the culmination of years of consistent excellence.
Since 2009, Boris has finished in the top five of The Huddle Report’s rankings six times, including runner-up finishes in 2011, 2013, and 2015. His dominance is further highlighted by his six-year reign as the “Mock Draft King of the Hill” from 2012 to 2017, a title awarded to the individual with the best five-year average score. In 2024, he reclaimed this prestigious designation, cementing his legacy as a mock draft titan.
Inside The Mind Of A Jason Boris Mock Draft & His Process
What sets Boris apart in a field crowded with analysts, insiders, and media personalities? His process, as he describes it, is both meticulous and intuitive.
“Everyone who does this has their own process,” Boris explained in an interview, “but what I do is put together a list of about 35 players that I think have the best shot of going in the first round. That becomes my pool of players to choose from. Then I create a short-list of players that I think could go to each of the 32 teams before finally trying to match a player to a specific team. It’s almost like trying to assemble a giant jigsaw puzzle with players instead of pieces.”
This methodical approach, akin to solving a complex puzzle, allows Boris to distill vast amounts of information into precise predictions. Unlike high-profile analysts with extensive networks of scouts and insiders, Boris relies primarily on his own research and knowledge. “I certainly don’t have all the contacts and sources that the big television personalities have or the writers from the bigger media outlets do,” he admitted.
Yet, this perceived limitation has become his strength. Unburdened by the noise of rumors and speculation, Boris focuses on film study, team tendencies, and draft trends. His ability to synthesize this data into accurate predictions showcases a level of expertise that surpasses even the most well-connected insiders.
Jason Boris: NFL Mock Draft King Of The Hill
Boris’ track record speaks to his consistency and adaptability in an unpredictable industry. The NFL draft is notoriously difficult to predict, with trades, surprise picks, and last-minute decisions throwing even the best analysts off course. Yet, Boris has thrived in this chaos, blending analytical rigor with an intuitive sense of how teams operate.
His six top-five finishes since 2009 and three runner-up spots highlight a sustained excellence that few can match. The “Mock Draft King of the Hill” title, which he held for six consecutive years and reclaimed in 2024, is a testament to his ability to outperform competitors over the long haul.
For fans and analysts alike, Jason Boris represents the pinnacle of mock draft accuracy. His 2024 performance—59 points, 29 correct players, and 15 perfect team matches—set a new standard for what’s possible in draft prediction.
While others rely on insider tips or media platforms, Boris proves that knowledge, process, and dedication can outshine even the brightest spotlight. As the NFL draft continues to captivate audiences, one thing is certain: when it comes to mock drafts, Jason Boris is in a league of his own.

Player News
Panthers released TE Jordan Matthews.
Matthews converted to tight end a few years ago and hasn’t made much noise at the position. The change has, however, likely kept him in the league for a few more seasons. He appeared in four games with the Panthers last year but didn’t record any stats on offense. The Panthers also released or waived WR Dax Milne, C Andrew Raym, and TE Colin Granger.
Dolphins released LS Blake Ferguson.
The team also waived CB Ryan Cooper Jr., DT Neil Farrell and OL Chasen Hines. Ferguson has been the team’s long snapper for five seasons and earned a three-year contract extension just before the 2023 season. He should be able to find work snapping footballs farther than the average snap elsewhere in the league.
DetroitLions.com’s Tim Twentyman believes rookie WR Isaac TeSlaa “could make his earliest impact on special teams.”
It’s not much of a surprise, as most rookies cut their teeth with special teams duties. Twentyman mentioned return duties as a possibility, though the former Razorback never returned kicks or punts in college. At 6'4/212 with 4.43 wheels, TeSlaa is an explosive athlete who never translated his physical traits to on-field production at Arkansas. The Lions clearly saw potential for him to do so in the pros and traded two future third-round picks to move up to No. 70 overall for him. It’s going to be a slow burn for TeSlaa in the pros, making him a dynasty-only fantasy option.
Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said the team does not “have any feelings on competition” when asked about the quarterback room.
O’Connell was asked about a potential quarterback competition on the Rich Eisen Show Wednesday and was unclear on whether J.J. McCarthy would have to compete to start. He said, “we’ve got an obligation as coaches to put our players in position to attack that competition phase.” O’Connell discussed first putting Brett Rypien and the newly acquired Sam Howell in a position to play before any competition would occur. He continued that McCarthy is “owning it” this offseason and is taking snaps from starting center Ryan Kelly. After missing last season with a torn meniscus, McCarthy has been ramping up workouts in the offseason and is the front-runner to start for the Vikings in 2025. As of now, Howell looks to be reinforcement at the backup spot in case it turns out McCarthy is not ready to start.
Texans re-signed DT Foley Fatukasi.
Fatukasi initially joined the Texans last offseason on a one-year contract. The 30-year-old was a rotational defensive lineman, tallying four tackles for loss and one sack. He returns to Houston for 2025, where he will be a part of a deep Texans front seven.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Tyreek Hill’s second wrist surgery was part of the original plan and his timeline remains unchanged.
Hill announced the second surgery on social media and Pelissero quickly added some context to the situation. The speedy receiver suffered the wrist injury just before the start of the season and it lingered throughout the year, though he never missed a game because of it. If the second surgery truly is a non-story, an offseason to recover might be what Hill needs to return to form after a down 2024 season. On the other hand, Hill is 31 years old, played his worst football last year, and his offense prioritized targets for Jonnu Smith and De’Von Achane. As it stands, Hill might have the highest risk-reward split in fantasy drafts.
